Fantasy Impact:
Espinosa was released by the Angels only three days ago after slashing an ugly .162/.237/.276 and hitting six home runs in 77 games with Los Angeles this season. The switch hitter can play both second base and shortstop. He most likely will be used as Seattle's main utility infielder supplanting Taylor Motter. Espinosa can hit with power; he hit 24 homers in 2016 with the Nationals. His high propensity to strike out makes him a high risk in all fantasy formats.
