A.J. Griffin implodes against Tigers Saturday

A.J. Griffin allowed nine hits and nine runs (all earned) while walking one and striking out three over 3 1/3 innings Saturday against the Tigers in Detroit. Four of the hits he allowed were home runs accounting for six of the runs. The outing was unlike his previous starts, in which the Rangers' record was a stellar 6-0. The 9-3 by the Rangers' broke their win streak and gave Griffin (4-1) his first loss of the year. He will pitch again Friday against Mike Bolsinger and the Blue Jays in Toronto.
