Jonathan Broxton gives up two runs against Giants
by Matthew Van Winkle | Sat, May 20th 2:20pm EDT
Jonathan Broxton didn't record an out in his relief appearance against the Giants Friday night. He gave up two runs on two hits while walking none and striking out none.
Fantasy Impact:
Broxton hadn't given up a run in seven straight appearances until Friday night, though his metrics are very deceiving. In his 15 appearances he had four outings in which he gave up all of his nine runs. His xFIP indicates that six of his appearances were excellent, two of them were average, and seven of them were awful. He only has one hold on the season and no wins. At this point he has no fantasy value unless he starts striking more batters out and gets more hold chances.
