Justin Nicolino does well in his first start of 2017
by David A Marcillo | Sun, May 14th 8:03pm EDT
Miami Marlins starting pitcher Justin Nicolino was called up from Triple-A New Orleans to make his first start of the season for the Marlins and did well, pitching six innings while allowing one run on six hits and four walks. He struck out five.
Fantasy Impact:
Nicolino looked much better than he has in previous seasons, but the four walks are a bit concerning for a guy who mostly relies on his command in order to get guys out. Still, with the Marlins rotation bad to begin with and now facing several injuries, Nicolino will get a few more starts to show if he's actually improved.
