Player Note on James Paxton (SP - FA)
Love the skill set and the delay to the start and 60 game sprint only helps Mr Paxton. Big year in 2020 for the Big K lefty.
Player Note on Andrew Benintendi (LF,CF - BOS)
Fenway Park kills lefties and for a guy who utilizes his hit tool to generate home runs and lacks true impact power, Fenway Park is a killer for Benny Biceps.
Player Note on Nathan Eovaldi (SP,RP - BOS)
60 games and the delay to the start of 2020 helps Eovaldi and his durability issues. I love that he qualifies at RP and if starting fails, he would be the Red Sox best closer. I like that safety net.
Player Note on Rougned Odor (2B - TEX)
.215 BA is terrible but I can't stop myself from having shares of 20/20 type skills and Odor still has me hoping.
Player Note on Corey Seager (SS - LAD)
Still can slug his way to a good SS season. He deserves to be a Top 60 guy and falls this far because it's impossible to ignore the concerns. I want to rank him higher and won't be surprised if he plays better than I currently rank him.
Player Note on DJ LeMahieu (1B,2B,3B - FA)
26 home runs in 2019. Never happens again. If Didi stayed in NY DJ wouldn't even be a full time player. I like high BA guys in the 60 game sprint but I can't buy into the distorted and outlandish 26 bombs form 2020. Don't be Fantasy fooled folks.
Player Note on Julio Urias (SP,RP - LAD)
60 games diminishes the durability concerns but even 60 games would be a jump in workload and that worries me. Love the potential and that forces me to rank him this high. I have high hopes but he is in my minors opening weekend. That says something
Player Note on Jonathan Villar (2B,SS - FA)
Regression and a change in scenery kills what I loved about Villar in 2019. I started him ahead of Javier Baez for the majority of 2020. I can't put him anywhere near him in 2020 even though he has 2B/SS eligibility.
Player Note on Dinelson Lamet (SP - SD)
He needs to do what I think he can do, but that lack of proof hasn't prevented me from ranking him where I think he deserves to be. He has 200K full-season stuff that the 60 game sprint should make even more valuable. I like the schedule and the parks he will pitch in too.
Player Note on Marcus Stroman (SP - NYM)
I loved Stroman this year in the NL without the DH and in some friendly parks. Now, he is hurt and the NL has a DH. Corona threw cold water on my sizzle for Stroman, but I still like him enough to write him up here.
