With over 20 million fantasy football players scrambling to prepare for their league drafts this month, FantasyPros today disclosed the winners of their season long Accuracy Study, which rates experts on the quality of their fantasy football predictions.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 11, 2010 – Las Vegas, NV – FantasyPros, the leading aggregator and ratings provider of fantasy football advice, today announced the most accurate fantasy experts from the 2009 NFL season. Their study analyzed the accuracy of weekly player rankings from the most popular fantasy football experts. The timing of the announcement comes as millions of fantasy players begin the arduous process of researching advice across multiple experts and sites to prepare for their drafts.
The Top 5 Most Accurate Experts overall:
- Andy Behrens – Yahoo! Sports
- Pat Fitzmaurice – Pro Football Weekly
- Brandon Funston – Yahoo! Sports
- Gregg Rosenthal – Rotoworld
- David Dodds – FootballGuys
The comprehensive study evaluated over 30 of the top writers, analysts, and sites from both free and subscription based fantasy content companies. Each expert’s weekly player rankings provided the data for the assessment. A few of these sites did not meet the minimum requirements of the study and were not included in the final public rankings. In addition to the overall rankings, FantasyPros provides accuracy ratings for each of the common positions played in fantasy football. Every expert’s ranking across each of these positions can be found by registering for free at www.FantasyPros.com.
“Our goal is to promote the best fantasy sites and experts by giving them a level playing field that simply and objectively answers the question, how good is your advice?” said David Kim, Co-Founder of FantasyPros. “The accuracy rankings provide one reference point that helps players streamline their research process. The average fantasy football player is inundated with a never ending supply of unfiltered information and advice. FantasyPros collects, organizes, and rates this information so players can get the advice they want, from the pros they trust.”
There have been other fantasy football accuracy studies, but the FantasyPros methodology is unique in that it rates accuracy based on the actual benefit that fantasy players receive from following the expert’s advice. They quantitatively measure – for all 16 weeks of the typical fantasy football season – how accurate each expert’s predictions are, and the incremental value a fantasy player receives for following the expert’s advice. More details on the accuracy methodology can be found by visiting the website.
