Description:
Do you know the difference between a spread and a moneyline? What about REST, Swagger or AWS? FantasyPros is looking for a Backend Developer and sports fan to join the team building our sister site for sports betting, BettingPros. The ideal candidate is passionate about building web products, enjoys watching a broad range of sports and making an occasional wager.
Responsibilities
- Support designing, implementing, and tuning production data sources.
- Work with a team of developers to add and update features using PHP and Python.
- Assist in application design, development, deployment, security, networks, and troubleshooting in the AWS cloud environment.
- Support designing, implementing, and tuning production data sources.
- QA website and resolve data issues.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong understanding of relational database design and query development
- 2-3 years of professional development experience with an object oriented programming language.
- Practical experience writing PHP/Python without the use of a framework.
- Experience with AWS services: EC2, Aurora RDS, CloudFront, S3, Lambda.
- High proficiency with REST Integrations. (Strong Websocket knowledge a plus).
- Relational Database experience (MySQL, MariaDB, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, Firebase).
- Linux administration experience (Apache/NGINX).
- Familiarity with a version control system such as GIT.
Desired Experience
- Experience developing PHP or Python.
- Knowledge of advanced database concepts such as replication and sharding.
- GraphQL experience.
- Development experience with messaging queues.
- Experience creating and understanding regular expressions.
- Strong understanding of best practices related to scaling.
- Knowledge of Sports Betting.
