NBA DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Primer
NBA DFS Core Plays
Paolo Banchero (PF – ORL)
- DraftKings: $9,900
- FanDuel: $9,900
Paolo Banchero was just 8-of-23 from the field and 1-of-8 from downtown against the L.A. Clippers on Monday night, but he still ended up with 26 points. That was enough to get to 25+ in FanDuel’s Free to Play Daily Shuffle. He was 9-of-9 from the free-throw line, which helped. For DFS, he had six rebounds and four assists, but he also had seven turnovers, which wasn’t optimal.
Against the Spurs, a team with the 23rd opponent rank, he has a seemingly good matchup, but he has misfired on 10+ attempts in each of the past two games. Still, there is no Victor Wembanyama in the middle, as he is out for the season with deep-vein thrombosis in his shoulder. The middle should be soft for San Antonio, allowing Banchero to see lesser resistance.
Anthony Edwards (SG, SF – MIN)
- DraftKings: $10,400
- FanDuel: $9,400
Anthony Edwards has a solid matchup. This is a standalone game on DraftKings with the option of using him for 1.5x DraftKings points with a salary of $15,600. With the Nuggets posting an opponent rank of 28 and Edwards posting 45.2 fantasy points per game, it’s worth a shot.
Edwards has 20+ points in the past two games, averaging 22.5 points, five rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in the past two outings, with four three-pointers in each game. The last time he faced Denver on the road, he posted 29 points on 10-of-22 shooting with five triples, six dimes and four boards.
Devin Booker (PG, SG – PHX)
- DraftKings: $9,700
- FanDuel: $9,500
Devin Booker faces a Milwaukee team with an opponent rank of 20 at DraftKings. He will be the face of the offense after Kevin Durant rolled his ankle on Sunday. Durant didn’t travel with the team to Cream City, so look for the offense to flow through Booker.
Booker was an efficient 12-of-17 from the field against the Houston Rockets, finishing with 28 points. It was his best scoring showing since dropping 41 against the Chicago Bulls on March 19th.

NBA DFS Cash Game Targets
Deni Avdija (SF, PF – POR)
- DraftKings: $8,100
- FanDuel: $8,300
Deni Avdija was superb in a losing effort last time out in New York, going for 33 points on an efficient 14-of-25 from the field, including 2-of-7 from behind the three-point line, while adding seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. He wrapped up March averaging 23.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.8 three-pointers per game in 13 games.
Against the Atlanta Hawks, you’ll want plenty of Trail Blazers littering your lineup. The Hawks are terrible defensively, allowing 119.5 points per game (27th in the NBA) with a 48.2% defensive field-goal percentage (29th) and 37.4% defensive three-pointer percentage (28th).
Nikola Vucevic (C – CHI)
- DraftKings: $7,700
- FanDuel: $7,600
Nikola Vucevic is a strong play against a doughy soft Toronto Raptors defense. The Raptors allow 115 points per game to rank 17th in the NBA, although they’re defensive field-goal percentage is 46.3%, which ranks in the top half of the league at No. 11.
Still, the Raptors are 28th in opponent rank. Vucevic ended March with 15.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while also knocking down 1.9 three-pointers per game in 11 March outings.
Immanuel Quickley (PG – TOR)
- DraftKings: $7,100
- FanDuel: $7,300
Immanuel Quickley and the Raptors should be involved in a high-scoring game against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Tuesday. The last time these teams met, we saw 240 total points in an overtime win by the Bulls on February 28th. They scored 228 total points in the second meeting and 243 combined points in Toronto on December 16th.
Quickly is averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two meetings with the Bulls this season, while averaging 3.5 three-pointers per game. You’d take those numbers at this price, right?

NBA DFS GPP Targets
Shaedon Sharpe (PG, SG – POR)
- DraftKings: $6,700
- FanDuel: $6,700
The 21-year-old Shaedon Sharpe has been getting a lot of run in Portland lately, and the former Kentucky standout is making a name for himself. He has 22+ points in four of the past five games, and those good scoring ways are likely to continue against a bad Atlanta defense. Remember, stack Portland players.
Sharpe also has grabbed six or more rebounds in five of the past six games. He also has two steals in two of the past three games, while adding 14 three-pointers in the previous seven contests. He can contribute a little bit of everything.
Draymond Green (PF, C – GSW)
- DraftKings: $6,600
- FanDuel: $6,400
Draymond Green faces a Memphis Grizzlies defense with an opponent rank of 27. He came alive with 14 points and five boards in 21 minutes in San Antonio last time out on Sunday. His production has been erratic, at least on offense, so don’t be surprised to see single-digit points. But, he’ll get you a healthy share of boards and dimes, with perhaps a block and a steal or two.
Kyle Kuzma (SF, PF – MIL)
- DraftKings: $6,500
- FanDuel: $6,300
Kyle Kuzma is a strong play, especially since Damian Lillard is sidelined indefinitely. As such, Kuzma will be even more integral on offense than he normally would. He went for 25 points, six boards and an assist with four three-pointers last time out on Sunday against Atlanta. With another favorable matchup, expect Kuzma to shine.

NBA DFS Value Plays
Gary Trent Jr. (SG, SF – MIL)
- DraftKings: $4,700
- FanDuel: $4,600
Gary Trent Jr., the son of ‘The Shaq of the MAC,’ is rolling in Milwaukee, scoring in double digits in 10 consecutive games. Trent has hit 22 three-pointers across the past six games, and that’s his calling card. He continues to get plenty of run, especially now with Damian Lillard out indefinitely due to deep-vein thrombosis in his calf.
Delon Wright (PG – NYK)
- DraftKings: $4,000
- FanDuel: $4,600
Delon Wright has seen an increase in run with Jalen Brunson sidelined and Miles McBride and Cameron Payne also on the shelf lately. Wright and Tyler Kolek have moved into larger roles in the rotation as a result. The former Milwaukee Buck, Wright is averaging 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, three assists, five steals and 1.5 three-pointers in the past two outings.
Matisse Thybulle (SF – POR)
- DraftKings: $3,800
- FanDuel: $3,900
A lot of NBA fans might have forgotten about the former University of Washington standout, as Matisse Thybulle has missed a majority of the season with an ankle injury. He has been a bit erratic lately, but he has notched double digits in two of his past three games. He dropped five three-pointers against the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 25th. Against the defensively-challenged Hawks, Thybulle could surprise.
