As with most weekends, Saturday is a jam-packed day of baseball. Plenty of different slates are available on both DraftKings and FanDuel for you to play DFS to your heart’s content. For this article, we will look at an evening slate for each platform.
The DraftKings slate begins at 7:05 p.m. ET and includes seven games. FanDuel happens to have the same slate available, which makes it nice for comparison purposes.

Saturday’s Top MLB DFS Picks & Player Props
Saturday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (4/5)
- This isn’t the best slate for targeting a top-tier pitcher, but the one that stands out is Seattle’s Bryce Miller. Miller is typically a better pitcher at home than on the road (career 2.76 ERA at home vs. 4.52 on the road). However, if there is a place where he should succeed, it’s San Francisco’s Oracle Park. Oracle Park is the park that most suppresses home runs, per Statcast’s park factors. The Giants have also struggled early in the season against right-handed pitchers with only a .661 OPS.
- A mid-tier option is Chris Bassitt. Bassitt turned back the clock in his first start of the season. He struck out seven batters over six innings while earning the win against the Baltimore Orioles. Today, he takes on the New York Mets. Having spent time with the Mets earlier in his career, he has a long track record at Citi Field. He has a 2.74 career ERA at Citi Field with nearly a strikeout per inning over 108 career innings.
- The pitcher opposing Bassitt in that game is Griffin Canning. He is an option if you are looking to go cheaper with your starting pitcher. In his Mets debut, Canning went 5.2 innings, striking out four and allowing only two earned runs. Throughout his career, his best pitch has been his slider. The Mets told him to unleash his slider in that start, and he threw it 51.7% of the time. He was able to get a 15.6% swinging strike on that pitch. If he keeps going back to his slider with this effectiveness, a big strikeout game could be coming.

- Targeting Coors Field is never a bad idea when it comes to DFS. Rockies hitters are more affordable than Athletics hitters. Part of that could be because the Athletics are rolling out left-handed pitcher JP Sears. The Rockies are currently a bottom-10 team in OPS against left-handed pitchers at .689. They also have only played one game so far at Coors Field, so that number could rise substantially in one day.
- One player that will be in my lineups is Hunter Goodman at only $3,600. He continues to play every day between catcher and designated hitter. While he has the power to hit home runs against either-handed pitchers, he is better against left-handers (career .789 OPS).
- Kris Bryant has gotten off to a miserable start, going 1-for-14 at the plate. Ideally, that would have dropped his price more than its current $3,900, but he is a known lefty masher. He has a career .927 OPS against left-handed pitchers.

- The Los Angeles Angels offer some more affordable options who have good track records against starting pitcher Tanner Bibee.
- Due to his injury issues, Mike Trout has never had an at-bat against Bibee. However, as long as he is healthy, he is always in play, especially against a right-handed pitcher.
- Taylor Ward, Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel all have nice track records against Bibee. Ward is 3-for-8 with a home run. Rengifo is 4-for-8 with a run scored. Schanuel is 3-for-5 with a solo home run. Each comes with an affordable price tag. You do have to make sure Rengifo is in the lineup, as he left early yesterday with hamstring tightness.

Core Studs
- Pete Alonso has hit home runs in three of the past four games. In those four games, he has five total extra-base hits and 10 RBI. He has also walked four times in those three games. If you believe in playing a hot streak, consider Alonso.
- It has not been a good start for Christian Yelich (2-for-24). If there is a team he is likely to turn it around against, it is the Cincinnati Reds. He has hit 25 home runs against the Reds in just 123 games. That’s the most home runs he has hit against any team in his career.
- The Braves’ offense finally exploded yesterday, and another explosion could be on tap today against Cal Quantrill. Matt Olson hit his first home run of the season yesterday. He was overdue for that one, and maybe overdue for yet another home run. He is one of 10 batters with at least five barreled balls this early in the season. He is one of only two people on that list with only a single home run. Because Olson is batting just .222, we are getting him at a discount. Take advantage of that while it lasts.
Value Plays/Punts
- To begin with, Jacob Wilson is one of the options who gets to play in Coors Field. He has played all eight games for the Athletics and has hits in all of them. He has yet to walk or strike out, so you know he has the potential for multiple hits as much as he is going to swing. Yesterday he hit his second home run. Wilson offers both a safe floor and a high ceiling.
- You have to check to make sure Jonathan Aranda is in the lineup. Considering they are facing right-hander Jacob deGrom, he should be. The Rangers pitcher is assuredly a tough matchup, but Aranda has performed quite well for a player priced under $3,000. He is in the top 10 in all of baseball in average exit velocity.
- Gavin Lux has mostly played against right-handed pitchers in his career. It makes sense, considering he has a nearly 200-point differential between his OPS against right-handed and left-handed pitchers. Today, he takes on Elvin Rodriguez of the Brewers. The injuries to the Brewers’ rotation have forced Rodriguez into the rotation earlier than expected.

Saturday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props
Riley Greene has quietly gotten off to a great start. He is batting .344 with three home runs already. He has cleared 1.5 combined hits + runs + RBI in the last four consecutive games and five out of seven games overall. Today, he takes on right-hander Marcus Stroman. All of his home runs have been against right-handed pitchers so far this season.
This comes down to what you trust more: The pitcher’s history or the team he is facing. Matthew Boyd is taking on the San Diego Padres. The Padres currently have the fewest strikeouts in baseball (46). Boyd, though, has a history of exceeding the 4.5 strikeout mark. He has cleared 4.5 strikeouts in his last six starts dating back to last season.
Paul Goldschmidt has been batting either leadoff or cleanup for the New York Yankees. Today, the Yankees are taking on left-handed pitcher Bailey Falter. Goldschmidt has always excelled against left-handers, including Falter — 3-for-7 with a double. It’s similar to his production against left-handers early in the 2025 season — 4-for-7 with his only home run of the season.
