The 2025 NFL Draft is nearly here, with less than 17 days until the big event. The rumor mill is in full force, and misinformation is spreading like wildfire. Therefore, let’s dive into four NFL Draft burning questions.
2025 NFL Draft Burning Questions
Where Will Shedeur Sanders Go?
Every mock draft has Cam Ward going first overall to the Tennessee Titans. However, no one has a clue where Sanders will land on April 24. He had a strong performance at Colorado’s Pro Day. Sanders could come off the board as early as second overall to the Cleveland Browns or third to the New York Giants. Yet, according to reports, those two teams seem locked in on drafting Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter.
Therefore, Sanders seems unlikely to come off the board in the top five. Where could he land? The former Colorado star will visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday. They have the 21st pick and Mason Rudolph as their current starting quarterback, making Pittsburgh the floor for Sanders. Meanwhile, he could come off the board as early as ninth overall to the New Orleans Saints. While Sanders was once a potential top-two pick, his draft range has significantly grown.
Who is the QB4?
While some draft evaluators disagree, most experts have Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, and Jaxson Dart as their top three quarterbacks in some order. Yet, no one agrees on the fourth quarterback in the draft. Some have an outside-the-box opinion, ranking Dillon Gabriel, Kyle McCord, or Riley Leonard as the fourth quarterback in the class. However, Jalen Milroe, Quinn Ewers, Tyler Shough, or Will Howard is the fourth quarterback in most draft rankings.
More importantly, which quarterback will be the fourth drafted later this month? Ward and Sanders are first-round locks, while Dart is a near guarantee. Meanwhile, Slough’s draft stock is on the rise, with many mock drafts having him as the fourth quarterback off the board despite being an older prospect. Reportedly, the Cleveland Browns could take him with the top pick on Day 2 if they don’t draft a quarterback in the first round.
How Many Tight Ends Get Drafted on Day 2?
The 2025 tight end draft class is one of the best of all time. Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland are first-round locks and likely top-20 selections. The former Penn State star could be a top-10 pick and won’t make it past the Indianapolis Colts with the 14th overall pick. Meanwhile, the former Michigan star’s draft range likely starts at 14 with the Colts and ends with the Los Angeles Chargers at 23rd overall.
However, Warren and Loveland aren’t the only talented tight ends in the draft class. There could be five tight ends who get drafted on Day 2, with two potentially being top 40 picks. Elijah Arroyo and Mason Taylor could get drafted in the first 10 picks of Day 2. The worst case is both tight ends come off the board by the end of the second round. Meanwhile, Harold Fannin Jr., Gunnar Helm, and Terrance Ferguson should be top 100 picks.
Which Edge Rusher Comes Off the Board After Abdul Carter?
Abdul Carter is the clear-cut top edge rusher and pure defensive player in the draft class. The former Penn State star will be a top-four pick in the NFL Draft, potentially getting selected as high as second overall by the Cleveland Browns. He was a force during Penn State’s playoff run despite playing through a significant shoulder injury. However, who will be the second edge rusher off the board on draft night?
There are five candidates to be the second edge rusher drafted this year – Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker, Mike Green, Shemar Stewart, and James Pearce Jr. The two Georgia stars (Williams and Walker) are top 10 picks in most mock drafts and are the next two edge rushers off the board behind Carter. However, don’t write off Green or Stewart. Green led the country in sacks last season (17), while Stewart was the star of the NFL Combine.
