4 NFL Draft Burning Questions (2025 Fantasy Football)

Believe it or not, we’re less than a month away from the 2025 NFL Draft.

With each passing day, new information about these prospects is released, whether through reports from insiders, Pro Days or other means.

I have four burning questions related to the 2025 NFL Draft, and I’ll attempt to answer them below.

2025 NFL Draft Burning Questions

Where Will Xavier Restrepo Be Drafted?

Oh boy, oh boy.

At the Miami Hurricanes’ Pro Day, all eyes were on quarterback Cam Ward, who’s likely to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

However, alongside him, scouts and reporters got to look at other Hurricanes prospects, including one of Ward’s weapons, slot receiver Xavier Restrepo.

Restrepo is a small receiver, but everyone knows him as a pure slot guy.

Before this Pro Day, I had Restrepo inside the top 50 on my big board.

I didn’t think he was this freaky fast specimen or anything, but he’s a reliable target who can get open.

I may need to reconsider after his Pro Day, as he ran the 40-yard dash in around 4.80 seconds.

That’s absurdly slow for a wide receiver.

For context, Hunter Renfrow ran a 4.59 40-yard dash, but he wasn’t exactly considered an all-world athlete coming out of college.

There’s almost no comparison for him other than Jarvis Landry, who ran a 4.77 at the combine but followed that up with a 4.51 at his Pro Day.

This will certainly cause Restrepo to slide, perhaps to Day 3.

What Do the Patriots Do if Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter Are Gone at No. 4?

If Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter are gone at pick No. 4, there are a few options for the Patriots:

Armand Membou would be a fine selection if the Patriots feel confident they can move him to left tackle. Right now, their right tackle is slated to be the serviceable Morgan Moses. Their left tackle spot is currently occupied by Vederian Lowe, whom I’d be looking to upgrade as soon as possible. The problem with Membou here is that he’s a plug-and-play right tackle.

Alternatively, due to his affiliation with Ohio State, the Patriots and Mike Vrabel might pull a fast one and draft Josh Simmons. They could probably trade down and still manage to get him.

For this scenario to play out, one of the quarterbacks would still be on the board, which could result in the Patriots getting a decent haul to move down.

They could draft arguably the best receiver in the draft, Tetairoa McMillan, who will be a No. 1 WR, or bring in Jeanty.

A running back at No. 4 overall might be too high nowadays, but Jeanty and Drake Maye would be quite a fun duo to watch.

Do the Steelers Still Draft a Quarterback Early if They Sign Aaron Rodgers?

I think so. Now, would they do it at pick No. 21 overall? I doubt it; they have other pressing needs.

In this scenario, they’d have the quarterback need solved for the immediate future, so I’d recommend adding more resources along the offensive line, such as Kelvin Banks Jr., Josh Simmons or Grey Zabel, depending on who’s available.

The Steelers would need to wait until pick No. 83 for a quarterback, but there may be plenty of enticing names there, like Tyler Shough, Dillon Gabriel, Will Howard or Kyle McCord.

So, in this scenario, yes, draft a quarterback, but not in the first round.

Will Jaxson Dart Go In the First Round?

Yes. The hype is trending in the right direction for Jaxson Dart.

He’s got all the tools in the world, but coming into the NFL from a Lane Kiffin offense, where he was hardly ever under center, he’ll need some time to sit.

Dart is an excellent late first-round pick, or perhaps he could find himself in a situation like Teddy Bridgewater or Lamar Jackson, where a team trades up with the Philadelphia Eagles at pick No. 32 overall to snag him for his fifth-year option.

Looking at teams drafting late, the Los Angeles Rams at pick No. 26 stand out.

As for teams that could trade back into the first round to snag him, the Giants at pick No. 34 stand out if they miss out on Shedeur Sanders, the Raiders at pick No. 36 make sense and the New Orleans Saints at pick No. 40 could be an interesting spot, too.
