NBA DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Primer
NBA DFS Core Plays
Karl-Anthony Towns (C – NYK)
- DraftKings: $10,000
- FanDuel: $9,800
You know what you’re getting when you play Karl-Antony Towns in DFS. He has posted 21+ points in eight consecutive outings, including double-doubles in the past two games. He is averaging 29 points per game (PPG) and 10 rebounds per game (RPG) in the past three outings. He has had 10+ successful field-goal attempts in each of the past five outings.
Among the top DFS salaried players for Tuesday, he is not only one of the healthiest options, but he is averaging 49.5 fantasy points per game. Towns faces a Dallas Mavericks team with an opponent rank of 23. Look for him to do big things.
Paolo Banchero (PF, SF – ORL)
- DraftKings: $9,800
- FanDuel: $9,600
Paolo Banchero has been on fire lately. The 22-year-old former Duke star has 30+ points in three straight games, averaging 30.3 PPG with 7.0 RPG and 2.7 made three-pointers per game across the span.
Banchero has enjoyed tremendous success in March, going for 30 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 4.5 assists per game (APG), 1.4 steals per game (SPG) and 2.6 threes per contest in 11 games since flipping the calendar to March. That includes a 43-point explosion with 10 boards in a loss at Minnesota on March 14th.
The last time he faced the Hornets, Banchero was good for 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists with four triples and a blocked shot in 30 minutes on February 12th.
Evan Mobley (PF, C – CLE)
- DraftKings: $8,800
- FanDuel: $8,500
Evan Mobley should see added offensive responsibilities with Donovan Mitchell managing his left groin injury. He scored 11 points with 11 rebounds last time out at Utah, while blocking three shots. He has three straight double-doubles and is averaging 18.6 PPG with 9.4 RPG and 3.0 APG in 10 games in March.
The last time Mobley faced the Trail Blazers was March 2nd. He went for 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists with a three-pointer and was 7-of-10 from the free-throw line in an overtime thriller in Cleveland. That was also a game Mitchell missed.

NBA DFS Cash Game Targets
Deni Avdija (SF, PF – POR)
- DraftKings: $7,700
- FanDuel: $8,400
Deni Avdija is coming off a game with “just” 17 points and 11 rebounds last time out against the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The point total was disappointing because he scored at least 31 points in the previous two affairs.
Still, Avdija has averaged an impressive 23 points, 10.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.8 threes per game in 10 games in March. The last time he faced the Cavaliers in Cleveland, Avdija was good for 30 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the triple-double on March 2nd.
Amen Thompson (PG, SF – HOU)
- DraftKings: $8,200
- FanDuel: $8,600
Amen Thompson is the answer to the prayers of DFS players looking for some decent scoring on Tuesday. He will be facing a very giving Atlanta Hawks defense that has allowed 119.3 PPG to rank 28th in The Association. Teams are cashing in at a 48.2% clip (28th) from the field and 37.3% (27th) from behind the three-point line.
Thompson was good for just 11 points last time out on a 5-of-11 shooting night before getting into foul trouble, although he still managed to swat three shots. He is averaging 14 PPG and 9.7 RPG in six March games, while adding 4.3 APG. He is a strong mid-tier play.
Jalen Duren (C – DET)
- DraftKings: $7,200
- FanDuel: $7,100
Jalen Duren will be able to operate with impunity in the paint against a Spurs team without Victor Wembanyama. That’s great news for Duren, who will face a very giving Spurs interior.
Duren is good for 17 PPG and 10.7 RPG across the past three games. He is averaging 14.4, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per game in 12 games in March.

NBA DFS GPP Targets
OG Anunoby (SF, PF – NYK)
- DraftKings: $6,900
- FanDuel: $7,200
OG Anunoby has a favorable matchup against a bad Dallas Mavericks defense. The Mavs are sinking like a stone in the Western Conference, mostly due to a lack of an interior presence. Anthony Davis is a giant question mark due to injury. The Knicks’ frontcourt should have its way against the Mavs at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
Santi Aldama (PF – MEM)
- DraftKings: $6,400
- FanDuel: $5,800
Santi Aldama has been super consistent across the past two games, going for exactly 16 points and five rebounds in each of the past two games, while totaling five three-pointers. He’ll be relied upon as a solid offensive contributor with Ja Morant sidelined for a fifth consecutive game.
Fred VanVleet (PG – HOU)
- DraftKings: $6,200
- FanDuel: $7,000
Fred VanVleet has been a little erratic lately, but against the Hawks, he should be able to go off. He has three games with single-digit point totals in the past six outings, so this is a true boom or bust play.
VanVleet is just a game removed from dropping 37 points and nine three-pointers in Miami on Friday, while shooting an efficient 13-of-17 from the field. Roll the dice on VanVleet. Hopefully, he’ll carve up the Hawks nicely.

NBA DFS Value Plays
Luke Kennard (PG, SG – MEM)
- DraftKings: $4,800
- FanDuel: $4,800
With Morant sidelined, Kennard should see some extended run. He was good for 15 points on a solid 6-of-9 shooting last time out against the Clippers Friday, and he added four assists, three steals and two rebounds with three triples. If he can replicate those numbers he will more than pay for himself.
De’Andre Hunter (SF, PF – CLE)
- DraftKings: $5,000
- FanDuel: $4,900
Hunter should continue to see a decent role in the offense, and with Mitchell out, he has an even higher ceiling. He has scored 15 or more points in three of the past four outings, and he is good for at least two 3-pointers in four consecutive games. The Trail Blazers are giving on defense, and Hunter should see some added offensive responsibilities, perhaps as the No. 2 or 3 scoring option with Spida in street clothes.
Brice Sensabaugh (SF – UTA)
- DraftKings: $3,900
- FanDuel: $4,600
Lauri Markkanen is under the weather, so Brice Sensabaugh, KJ Martin and Micah Potter could see some added run. The best bet is Sensabaugh, though, as he has been consistent in March. He has hit double digits in three of the past four games, and 10 of 13 outings in March, averaging 12.3 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 1.6 APG and 2.5 3PT per game.
