DeAndre Hopkins Signs With Ravens: Fantasy Football Impact

The 32-year-old Hopkins is coming off a disappointing season in which he totaled 56 catches for 610 yards and five touchdowns over 16 games — six of them with the Titans and 10 with the Chiefs.

Hopkins faded late in the season, producing fewer than 40 yards in each of his last four regular-season games with the Chiefs. In Kansas City’s three playoff games, Hopkins had three catches for 29 yards and one touchdown. His snap shares were under 40% in all three of the Chiefs’ postseason contests.

Clearly, the Ravens aren’t getting vintage DeAndre Hopkins. But Hopkins’ skill set could fit the Baltimore offense nicely.

Over his first two NFL seasons, Zay Flowers‘ average depth of target has been 8.6 yards. Rashod Bateman‘s average depth of target last season was 13.6 yards, and he averaged 16.8 yards per catch.

With Flowers serving primarily as a short-area target and Bateman operating as a deep-ball threat, Hopkins can give Ravens QB Lamar Jackson another intermediate option. Hopkins’ average depth of target last season was 10.4 yards.

Hopkins’ days of being a 1,000-yard receiver are almost certainly over. It seems reasonable to peg Hopkins for about 50-60 catches, 600-700 yards and a handful of touchdowns, making him a WR4 or WR5 for fantasy.

Flowers’ target share probably isn’t in jeopardy as a result of the Hopkins signing; Flowers is still a midrange to low-end WR2.

But the addition of Hopkins makes it less likely that Bateman will turn into a difference-making fantasy contributor. Bateman is coming off a career-best 45-756-9 season. Something close to a repeat of his 2024 numbers might be the ceiling for Bateman. He’s best thought of as a low-end WR4.

Ravens TEs Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely could lose a few targets due to Hopkins’ presence, but their fantasy value doesn’t figure to change significantly.

And Hopkins’ addition can only bolster Lamar Jackson‘s case for being the fantasy QB1 (although Josh Allen fans may have something to say about that).
