Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (2/13)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (G – OKC): 24.5 points (alt line)
SGA continues to thrive for the Thunder. He has been lighting up as a scorer and has shown incredible consistency in dropping 25 or more points in each of his last 22 games. SGA is KD-level smooth as a scorer, even if it looks much different on the court. SGA should be all the way up for a head-to-head matchup against one of the other candidates for the new face of the league in Anthony Edward. SGA scored 40 points when he faced Minnesota earlier this season. Slap the More on SGA for Thursday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Anthony Edwards (G/F – MIN): 24.5 points (alt line)
Ant-Man has been excellent for the Timberwolves this season. He is averaging 27.5 points per game on the season and has hit the alt line mark of 25 points in 17 of his last 20 contests. The Timberwolves have taken a major step back since dumping Karl-Anthony Towns, but Edwards remains one of the brightest young stars in the league. Tonight, he will face off against SGA,, who should bring the competitive spirit out of Ant-Man. With that said, Edwards dropped just 20 points when he faced OKC earlier this season, so the full line is hard fade. The alt line has some appeal due to recent trends and comes with a solid enough multiplier to include on tickets if you are looking for an additional high probability play. Tap the More Ant-Man for Thursday night’s NBA action.
Pick: More
Norman Powell (G/F – LAC): 19.5 points (alt line)
Powell fell under the 20 point mark for the first time in 12 games against Memphis but is an easy bounce back candidate tonight, with Kawhi Leonard set to sit out due to the back-to-back. Powell dropped 26 points on Utah just two games ago and should hit at least 20 tonight with the extra volume to be had. Push the More on Powell for Thursday night basketball.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
