Rodgers seemingly continues to try and pick and choose where he wants to play next. This is of course only possible if Matthew Stafford is traded. It appears we’ll be having another offseason of drama surrounding Rodgers if he chooses to continue to play.

Anthony Richardson set for open quarterback competition
Colts GM Chris Ballard stated Tuesday at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine that Anthony Richardson (back) will enter “an open competition” at quarterback, facing off against new options the team adds this offseason. Ballard first hinted at a QB battle in January, but this latest comment doubles down-Richardson must prove himself to reclaim the starting role in Year 3. With 40-year-old Joe Flacco hitting free agency, Indianapolis could turn to the draft, holding the 14th overall pick and later selections, to bring in fresh arms. Richardson sat out the last two games of 2024 with a back injury, though no reports suggest he’ll miss offseason work.

Richardson’s dual-threat profile flashed QB1 upside in 2024, but inconsistency and injuries-capped by that late back issue-put his Colts gig in jeopardy. Saints face decision on Derek Carr‘s 40 million deal
Saints QB Derek Carr (hand) is set to earn $40 million in 2025, with $10 million guaranteed now and the remaining $30 million locking in if he’s still on the roster by mid-March, per league sources. New Orleans’ tight cap situation might push them to keep Carr, renegotiating his deal to spread the hit rather than cutting him loose. A pre-March release with a post-June 1 tag could delay most of the dead money to 2026, but it wouldn’t free up 2025 space until summer. Carr, who turns 34 in March, battled injuries in 2024, missing the last four games with a broken bone in his non-throwing hand.
