Dynasty Rookie Draft Advice: Tyler Warren & Emeka Egbuka (2025)

The NFL Draft is arguably the most exciting part of the offseason for fantasy football enthusiasts. Dynasty managers will anxiously await the landing spots of many highly-touted prospects, hoping they don’t interfere with the usage/deployment of their coveted assets. Redraft managers will eagerly await the selection of these offensive talents and assess how these draft-day decisions will impact the fantasy football landscape.

Certain teams are better positioned to facilitate immediate fantasy football production for these incoming rookies. As a general rule, we hope these players head into thin depth charts where they can compete for volume from the opening kick-off. This increases the draftee’s potential and preserves the value of veterans with established roles.

Perfect NFL Draft Landing Spots

Heading into the 2024 draft, the wide receiver position was a glaring need for the New York Giants. Many pinpointed the Giants as an ideal landing spot for exciting receiver prospect Malik Nabers. He produced at a stellar rate during his first season in New York, finishing as the overall WR7 in half-PPR formats.

In what follows, we’ll highlight landing spots that would be the most conducive to fantasy football production for some of the most enticing prospects in the upcoming draft.

Tyler Warren (TE – Penn State)

Tyler Warren burst onto the scene during his final season at Penn State, tallying 85 receptions for 1,011 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He quickly emerged as one of the best tight ends in the entire nation. According to PFF, he ranked second in receiving grade, third in yards per route run and third in missed tackles forced among FBS tight ends with at least 30 targets. He’s a versatile weapon NFL offensive coordinators will love to work with throughout his career.

The Indianapolis Colts are in a peculiar situation. Quarterback Anthony Richardson, while having undeniable talent and appealing traits, has struggled to perform consistently at the NFL level. The 2025 season will likely be Richardson’s final audition to be the long-term starting passer for the Colts.

Richardson’s struggles have mostly been attributed to his lack of accuracy on short-to-intermediate throws. Per PFF, he’s completed fewer than 47% of passes between 10 and 19 yards downfield. To alleviate some of these issues, Richardson can certainly use the help of a sure-handed target who consistently produces yardage after the catch. Insert Tyler Warren.

Historically speaking, the Colts have heavily used the tight end position in their offensive system. They’ve recently employed a committee involving the likes of Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Will Mallory. Warren would become the undisputed No. 1 TE in this offense and would monopolize the majority of the production from this position group.

Warren’s potential selection by the Colts would put him in a prime position to earn great volume in an intriguing offense. It would also be a great advantage for Richardson, who will look to provide some passing upside along with his rushing production.

Emeka Egbuka (WR – Ohio State)

While sometimes overshadowed by several superstar wide receivers at Ohio State, Emeka Egbuka is a great prospect in his own right. He has developed a reputation for being a reliable chain-moving receiver. Per PFF, Egbuka earned a formidable 83.7 receiving grade while running 80.9% of his routes from the slot. He profiles as an ideal short-area receiver who can soak up targets as an NFL team’s primary slot receiver.

After enjoying one of the most impressive rookie seasons of all time, C.J. Stroud endured somewhat of a sophomore slump in 2024. The offense as a whole struggled to replicate the explosiveness that took the NFL by storm a year prior. Injuries to Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs forced the Texans’ hand into developing a more run-centric offensive game plan.

Dell, who suffered a devastating knee injury in the late stages of the 2024 season, is likely to miss the majority of the 2025 season. Diggs is a free agent whose future in the NFL remains uncertain. What was once a position of strength for the Texans quickly became a position of need this offseason. The team lacks pass-catching weapons outside of superstar wideout Collins.

Egbuka would be an ideal fit for the Texans. For one, he and Stroud were teammates in college and have an established rapport. Egbuka’s transition to the NFL would be much more seamless with a quarterback he is already familiar with.

On the other hand, Egbuka’s skillset would be the ideal complement to Collins, who is one of the NFL’s most electric deep threats and mostly targeted in the deeper portions of the field. Egbuka’s proficiency in short-area scenarios will also have to be accounted for by opposing defenses. The Texans’ offense would see an uptick in production if they draft Egbuka.
