2025 NFL Draft Quarterback Prospects

Cam Ward (QB – Miami)

The former Washington State quarterback transferred to Maimi and led the country with 39 touchdowns and was second with 4,313 passing yards.

Cam Ward has a huge arm that helped Miami become one of the most explosive offenses in the nation. His ability to throw deep and stay accurate on most routes could make him a potential franchise quarterback. He was just one of the three FBS quarterbacks with over 30 touchdowns and fewer than 10 interceptions.

Shedeur Sanders (QB – Colorad)

It was an excellent year for Shedeur Sanders as he finished with the second-most passing touchdowns (37) and fourth-most passing yards (4,134).

Ignore the last name and the stigma around it, and he’s just a talented quarterback. He has the mental part of the game locked down as he does well with pre-snap adjustments and goes through his progression. He throws with a high level of accuracy, even in tight windows, and it shows with his FBS-leading 74.2% completion rate.

Jalen Milroe (QB – Alabama)

It wasn’t Jalen Milroe’s best season, and while it might have hurt his draft stock, he will be an impactful player if he can play up to his potential.

He’s likely the most athletic quarterback in this draft. He is tough to take down with a high-level scrambling ability. He isn’t always a run-first at the first sign of pressure quarterback; he can stay poised, look off defenders and make crucial throws.

Jaxson Dart (QB – Mississippi)

Jaxson Dart is someone people say will be a riser as the draft season progresses. He had an incredible year leading the high-powered Ole Miss offense. He led the SEC with 4,279 passing yards and a 69.3% completion rate.

He’s a fantastic dual-threat quarterback. He can throw on the run and use different arm angles to get the ball to the receiver, but when he needs to take off, he has an excellent burst for big gains. He has a high IQ and does well at making pre-snap reads. He also has a very accurate arm that can get through tight windows.

Quinn Ewers (QB – Texas)

Quinn Ewers had some ups and downs this season, and he’s been injured in both seasons at Texas, which is a concern.

He does possess some qualities you look for in an NFL quarterback. He stays strong in the pocket, and although he isn’t a scrambler, he can move around when needed. He can throw from different arm angles, which helps when needing to place the ball away from a defender.

Kyle McCord (QB – Syracuse)

Kyle McCord has proven himself efficient at Ohio State and, this year, Syracuse, where he led the country with 4,779 passing yards and 34 touchdowns.

He’s a pure pocket passer but can move around to buy extra time. He can read defenses and has a strong arm for deep passes, but he is highly accurate in intermediate passes. He could shine in a heavy-passing West Coast offense.

Dillon Gabriel (QB – Oregon)

It was an excellent one-and-done season at Oregon for Dillon Gabriel, where he led the Big Ten with 275.5 yards per game and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Gabriel is one of the more seasoned quarterbacks, and he’s been in enough situations to know what’s expected of him at the next level. He can come in somewhere and adapt quickly, as you saw when he moved from Central Florida to Oklahoma and then to Oregon. He has an above-average arm and does well in ball placement, especially when throwing a fade route to the sideline.

Will Howard (QB – Ohio State)

Will Howard had the perfect cap to his collegiate career by winning a National Championship.

He is a great leader with many traits NFL franchises like. He can read defenses at the line and make adjustments. With a strong and athletic build, he’s difficult to take down in the pocket or when he takes off in the open field. He’s played and excelled in a pro-style offense. If he shows off his tangibles in the draft process, he can move up the boards.

Riley Leonard (QB – Notre Dame)

Riley Leonard came up short in the National Championship, but he showed growth this season.

His football IQ made him an instrumental field general who could command an offense. Although he doesn’t have a strong arm, he does well at intermediate throws and can hit receivers on the run.

He also possesses high mobility and can elude pressure and take off for positive yards.

Donovan Smith (QB – Houston)

Donovan Smith is an intriguing prospect to pay attention to in the draft process. He has the build of a prototypical quarterback at 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, and possesses the toughness and strength you want.

Smith is a high-level arm talent who can hit receivers in stride but also has the accuracy to hit them on quick and intermediate routes. With impressive athleticism under duress, he can scramble to extend and shred tackles. When he takes off, his remarkable footwork can help him get extra yards.

He is someone you could see going on Day 2. He has the potential to be a steal.
