Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups (2024 Fantasy Football)

Week 13 is now in the books. There are numerous storylines to track, but perhaps the most significant is the overlooked IDP players who showed out in Week 13. There were a lot of defensive fireworks in Week 13, so there are more than a few intriguing names on the waiver wire in leagues of all sizes. Let’s take a look at some of the names that may be worth some of your free agent budget.

Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire

Linebacker

Mack Wilson (LB – ARI): 8% rostered on Yahoo
Mack was excellent in Week 13, racking up six solos, one assist, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and one pass defended. Wilson emerged from IDP hibernation against the Vikings, posting his first spike week since a burning hot start to the season. His performance puts him back in the LB3 mix as we know he can produce in this system and will be facing a familiar opponent he played just two weeks ago. Tap Wilson as an LB3 option for Week 14. Add Mack where needed.

Isaiah McDuffie (LB – GB): 0% rostered on Yahoo
McDuffie was excellent on Thursday, tallying seven solos, three assists, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, and one pass defended. McDuffie has been a starter all season but should see another high snap count with rookie Edgeririn Cooper expected to be sidelined for Thursday night. McDuffie is a solid bye week LB3 option and should be treated as one for a plus matchup against the Detroit Lions. Add McDuffie where needed.

Josey Jewell (LB – CAR): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Jewell was at it again in Week 13, notching six solos, four assists, one sack, and two tackles for loss against the Carolina Panthers. Jewell has been elite since returning from injury and should be counted as an LB1 option, especially when given a plus matchup like he has in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Add Jewell wherever available.

Kenneth Murray (LB – TEN): 7% rostered on Yahoo
Murray was excellent in Week 13, racking up five solos, five assists, 0.5 sacks, one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble. Murray caught fire over a string of three plus matchups and should be treated as an easy top-20 option for a plus Week 14 matchup against Mac Jones and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Murray should be rostered in all competitive leagues. Add Murray everywhere.

Blake Cashman (LB – MIN): 4% rostered on Yahoo
Cashman was excellent in Week 4, tallying nine solos and two assists. The solo count was a welcomed sign for Cashman, who was still getting it done since returning from injury but left much to be desired in the solo department. Now back into the swing of things, it is safe to once again deploy Cashman as an LB2 option for Week 14 and beyond. Add Cashman wherever available.

Defensive Line

Will McDonald (DE – NYJ): 3% rostered on Yahoo
McDonald was excellent in Week 13, reeling off two solos, two sacks, and two tackles for loss. His rostership numbers suggest that McDonald has been left for dead after a stretch of down weeks. This is despite him having eight dacks coming into Week 13. Now at 10 sacks for the season, McDonald is sure to be a priority add in the leagues he is still available in. Add and start McDonald as a borderline DL1 option for Week 14, thanks to a plus matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Joseph Ossai (DE – CIN): 0% rostered on Yahoo
Ossai was excellent in Week 13, tallying three solos, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one blocked kick. Ossai has just two sacks on the season, but both have come in his last two games. Ossai is finally trending up for the Bengals and should see an expanded role across from Trey Hendrickson now that he has proven his mettle. Tap Ossai as a DL3/4 option for Week 14, thanks to a plus matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Add Ossai wherever needed.

Nolan Smith Jr. (DE/LB – PHI): 0% rostered on Yahoo
Nolan was excellent in Week 13, notching three solos, five assists, one sack, and one tackle for loss on 81 percent of the snaps. Nolan is up to 4.5 sacks on the season, with at least one sack in two of his last three games. Smith was impressive in his expanded role, so we may continue to see a heavier snap count than we are used to. Add Smith as a DL3/4 option where needed.

Gervon Dexter (DT – CHI): 0% rostered on Yahoo
Dexter was at it again in Week 14, racking up three solos, four assists, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery. Gervon has been quiet since an elite start to the season that saw him record a sack in four of his first five contests. The return to the sack sheet is an encouraging sign and puts him back in the DT1 mix for Week 14. He is still more DL4 than DL3 but can be deployed as a DL3 option if you find yourself in an unavoidable pinch. Add Dexter where needed.

Nik Bonitto (DE/LB – DEN): 4% rostered on Yahoo
Bonitto solidified himself as an elite edge presence on Monday Night Football by putting up one solo, one sack, one tackle for loss, one interception, two passes defended, and one touchdown. Now second in the NFL with 11 sacks, it is time to take Bonitto seriously regardless of league provider. Continue to fire Bonitto up as a DL1 option for a plus Week 15 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Add Bonitto everywhere despite the bye.

Defensive Back

Xavier Woods (S – CAR): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Woods was at it again in Week 13, racking up five solos, two assists, one interception, and one pass defended. Woods has strung three spike weeks together and has put himself squarely in the top-15 mix for Week 14 and beyond. Treat him as an elite DB2 option for Week 14 despite the tough on-paper matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Add Woods wherever possible.

Ugo Amadi (CB/S – NO): 1% rostered on Yahoo
Amadi showed up again in Week 13, tallying eight solos, one assist, and one pass defended. Ugo has been an IDP force since the Marcus Lattimore trade and is starring in the slot corner role. He will have down weeks, as we saw in Week 9, but Amadi has put himself in the mix as a corner to use even in DB leagues. Treat Amadi as a DB3/CB1 for a tasty Week 14 matchup against the New York Giants. Add Amadi wherever needed.

Ar’Darius Washington (S/CB – BAL): 1% rostered on Yahoo
Washington was excellent in Week 13, notching six solos, two assists, and two tackles for loss. Washington is starting to heat up for the Ravens, at least from an IDP perspective, and should be considered a DB3 option for Week 15 and beyond. Add Washington where needed, but plan your FAAB spend accordingly, as there will be less competition for his services due to the need to burn a roster spot on a bye week player.

Kyle Dugger (S – NE): 4% rostered on Yahoo
Dugger showed up in Week 13, racking up five solos, three assists, one pass defended, and one tackle for loss. Dugger has been a peak and valleys player this season, but his peaks have kept him in the high-end DB2 mix when he is healthy. Treat Dugger as a top-25 option for Week 15 despite the tough on-paper matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Dugger is on bye this week, so plan your FAAB bid with that in mind.

Donovan Wilson (S – DAL): 2% rostered on Yahoo
Donovan Wilson made an appearance in Week 13, tallying two solos, three assists, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one pass defended. Wilson has been a shell of the DB1 option we used to know but can still provide the odd spike week, keeping him in the DB3 mix. Tap him as an upside DB3 play for a plus Week 14 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Add Wilson where needed.
