Wednesday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Karl Anthony-Towns, Tyrese Maxey, LeBron James (12/25)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (12/25)

Karl-Anthony Towns (F/C – NYK): 19.5 points (alt line)

The double double line was the initial play here, but with the lines being released on Monday night due to no games being played on Tuesday, there is a high likelihood that the line expires by the time you get to read this. With that in mind, we will tap into the points alt line. 23.5 seems to have value for a player averaging 24.7 points per game, at least on the surface. Towns has scored 24 or more points in just four of his last eight games but has dropped 20 or more in six of them (with one 19 point outing). KAT should be all the way up for a Christmas Day matchup against Victor Wembanyama, especially since he now gets to face him while they both have featured roles. Pick: More

Tyrese Maxey (G – PHI): 19.5 points (alt line)

Maxey is set to take on the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day and comes into the contest riding a six game streak with 22 or more pointers. He has registered 21 or more points in nine of his last 10 games and is in an excellent position to score at least that much tonight against a Boston Celtics team surrendering 23.77 points per game to opposing point guards. Pick: More

LeBron James (G/F – LAL): 19.5 points (alt line)

LeBron may finally be slowing down, but is still a terrific player. He may need to be more judicious about picking his spots, but with the Lakers having little outside of Anthony Davis, LBJ will continue to be leaned on, even if he has wanted to take a step back for years. LeBron is averaging 23.2 points per game on the season. He has crossed the 20 point barrier in four of his last six games, hitting at least 28 in each of those four contests. LeBron should be all the way up on Christmas Day, not only because of being in yet another X-Mas showdown but due to going head-to-head with on court rival Steph Curry. Both teams are fighting to get out of play in territory, knowing full well that teams like Phoenix and Sacramento are poised to improve their winning percentages over the season. LeBron may not hit 28 or more tonight and may not even hit the 24 for the full total to click, but he should be more than aggressive enough to hit 20. Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
