Thursday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Brandon Miller, Domantas Sabonis, Cade Cunningham (12/26)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (12/26)

Brandon Miller (G/F – CHA): 19.5 points (alt line)

Brandon Miller has been impressive as a scorer this season, averaging 21.5 points per game. His shooting percentage is disastrous, at least on the surface, with Miller shooting just .406 from the field. However, deeper analysis reveals that Miller takes an insane 11.0 attempts from deep a game on which he hits at a .353 clip. He shoots .495 on two point tries for an eFG% (effective field goal percentage) of .511. Miller has scored 20 or more points in 12 of his last 13 games and should once again see more than enough volume to hit at least 20 tonight. Mash the More on Miller for Thursday night at Sleeper Picks.

Pick: More

Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 19.5 points (alt line)

Cade continues to thrive for the Pistons and has truly made the leap from star to all-star to emerging superstar. Pistons fans (and probably fantasy basketball players) will say he is already there, as evidenced by his elite averages of 23.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 9.7 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. Cade has poured in 20 or more points in 11 of his last 12 games and should score at least that many tonight against a Sacramento Kings team relinquishing 22.06 points per game to the point guard position. Clap the More on Cade for Thursday night’s action.

Pick: More

Domantas Sabonis (C – SAC): 0.5 double doubles

Domantas has continued his dominance on the glass this season and comes into tonight’s contest averaging 21.1 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. He leads the league with 26 double doubles in 28 games and has recorded at least 10 and 10 in eight straight games. This is not a sexy play due to the lower multiplier, but is one that helps immensely in an environment where you are required to make two or more picks. It has one of the highest hit rate of any total, alt line or otherwise, and makes for a fine addition to any of your tickets whenever the Kings are playing and Sabonis is healthy. Detroit has surrendered 13.53 rebounds per game to the center position. Slap the More on Sabonis for Thursday night basketball.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
