Running Back Handcuff Rankings: Week 15 (2024 Fantasy Football)

I thought the handcuff report would end last week but we are going to run it back as there is a lot of information to parse through.

Almost every fantasy football playoff is set to begin this week (some already have) and there are plenty of valuable backfield pieces to discuss.

Handcuff Notes

Chris Brooks (RB – GB)

Chris Brooks has out-snapped and out-touched Emanuel Wilson for the second consecutive week, solidifying his role as the preferred backup running back option in Green Bay.

For those in need of running back depth or insurance, Brooks is an intriguing waiver wire target. You should make Brooks a priority in leagues you roster Josh Jacobs.

Braelon Allen (RB – NYJ)

Braelon Allen frustratingly split snaps with Isaiah Davis in the absence of Breece Hall. Davis also scored a touchdown. Allen is one of my bigger misses as I thought he would get 20+ touches.

It is unclear what Hall’s status is but Allen is a risky start at this point.

Kendre Miller (RB – NO)

Kendre Miller returned to action for the first time since Week 8, tallying 32 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Miller is interesting because the Saints are out of contention and Derek Carr is now out for the year.

If the Saints decide to shut Alvin Kamara down, Miller would be a bell-cow back. If you have room and want to get ahead of the curve, grab him this week.

Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT)

Jaylen Warren continued to look good Sunday against Cleveland, totaling 62 yards on 11 touches. He’s a strong handcuff for Najee Harris, although he is probably 75% rostered.

Sincere McCormick (RB – LV)

Sincere McCormick looks like the new lead back in Las Vegas, although that hasn’t been a real profitable role. He did have 89 scoreless yards Sunday. At this point in the season, he is well worth a roster spot.

If McCormick is the starter, I wouldn’t be interested in Alexander Mattison or Zamir White as a handcuff.

Jonathon Brooks (RB – CAR)

Jonathon Brooks went down with a non-contact injury that looked bad. Raheem Blackshear and Mike Boone are the new handcuffs in Carolina. They can be safely ignored this week.

Tank Bigsby (RB – JAX)

Tank Bigsby led the Jacksonville backfield with 55 rushing yards and a touchdown. He looks like the preferred option over Travis Etienne. In leagues where I roster Etienne, I am holding onto him.

Zach Charbonnet (RB – SEA)

Zach Charbonnet had a monster game and continues to be one of the best handcuffs in the league. He had 193 total yards and two touchdowns, getting a lot of his managers into the playoffs in the process.

Isaac Guerendo (RB – SF)

Rookie Isaac Guerendo delivered a standout performance for the 49ers but exited late with a reported foot injury. With a quick turnaround for a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Rams in Week 15, his availability is highly uncertain.

If Guerendo is sidelined, Patrick Taylor Jr. is expected to step up for San Francisco. Taylor has 79 career carries but, as we have seen, the 49ers are plug-and-play at the running back position.

Blake Corum (RB – LAR)

Blake Corum stole some short-yardage and goal-line work from Kyren Williams, who handled 31 touches of his own. Corum is primed for a big role if Williams misses time.
