Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (12/16)
Keyonte George (G – UTA): 3.5 assists (alt line)
George has been impressive over his last 10 contests, averaging 17.4 points and 5.8 assists per game. George remains inconsistent, but the sophomore is seemingly gaining confidence as both a scorer and distributor. Keyonte has dished out four or more assists in each of his last 11 games and is in an excellent position to do so again tonight against a Los Angeles Clippers team surrendering 8.01 assists per game to the point guard position. Grab the More on George for Monday night basketball.
Pick: More
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): 4.5 assists
Mitchell has stepped it up as a distributor over his last eight contests, dishing out five or more assists in seven of those eight and six or more in six of them. He averaged 5.75 assists per game over that stretch, or 6.14 assists per game if we exclude the Boston game, where Donovan remained aggressive in looking for his own shot throughout. He managed just one assist against Brooklyn earlier this season, but this a recent trends play, not a head-to-head data play. Dap the More on Donovan for Monday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 19.5 points (alt line)
Cade continues his strong play for the Pistons, averaging an all-star level 23.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. Cade has scored 21 or more points in seven of his last eight games and 20 or more in 12 of his last 14. Cunningham dropped 24 points and 21 points in his two contests against Miami earlier this season and should hit at least that many tonight against a Heat team relinquishing 22.51 points per game to opposing point guards. Clap the More on Cade for Monday night’s action.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
