Friday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Karl Anthony-Towns, Donovan Mitchell, Cade Cunningham (12/23)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (12/23)

Karl-Anthony Towns (F/C – NYK): 0.5 double doubles

Karl-Anthony Towns has never been this good. Yes, he has averaged more points in his career, but he is averaging a career high in rebounding and three point percentage, finally finding the perfect running mate in Jalen Brunson. KAT is averaging 14 rebounds per game and is second in the league with 24 double doubles in 26 games played. Towns has registered a double double in 17 straight games and is in an excellent position to do so again against a Toronto Raptors team he hauled in 15 rebounds on earlier this month. Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): 3.5 assists (alt line)

Mitchell has continued to shine as a playmaker for the Cavaliers, most recently handing out five assists against the Philadelphia 76ers. Mitchell is averaging 4.5 assists per game on the season but has bumped that number up to 5.8 over his last 11 contests. There is some concern that Donovan will get aggressive against his former team, so the full total of 5.5 is a fade in favor of the much higher probability (and easier to hit) alt line of 3.5 assists. Donovan has recorded five or more assists in 10 of his last 11 games. Mash the More on Mitchell for Monday night basketball.

Pick: More

Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 19.5 points (alt line)

Cade was elite his last time facing the Lakers, thrilling with a triple double. It was his first of the season, and started his streak of three straight games with a triple double. Cade failed to crack the 20 point barrier for one of only four times this season against the Lakers, but should be resolute in being more aggressive tonight, especially with this being a road game. Cade has scored 20 or more points in 10 of his last 11 games. Clap the More on Cade for Monday night’s action.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
