Fantasy Games Won: Who Won & Lost Week 15? (2024)

It appears chances are higher than usual that next week’s Fantasy Games Won (FGW) article will be submitted via drone-managed Wi-Fi. Let’s make this week’s article count just in case sky cameras alter a few games next weekend.

Do you know who made Week 15 count? Ja’Marr Chase did. He did just enough to surpass Saquon Barkley and won the Fantasy Games Won regular season MVP. While Chase wasn’t especially good in Week 15, Barkley had a bad week (-0.11 FGW), and Chase’s Week 14 had him within striking distance. Barkley hasn’t been near as effective the last three weeks as he had been in the third quarter of the fantasy season, as he hit 0.35 FGW or better in each of Weeks 9, 11 and 12.

Despite my teams’ collective disappointment across the fantasy universe in Week 15, I’ll take that Chase winning consolation prize. Now, let’s find out which players have their managers seeking something greater than consolation bracket victories.

Fantasy Games Won (FGW)

Fantasy Games Won (FGW) is a statistic that converts fantasy points into fantasy wins. Players get positive FGW points for outscoring average fantasy starters and negative points for below-average scores.

A player can score up to +0.5 FGW for increasing your chances of winning from 50% to 100% or down to -0.5 for dropping your chances from 50% to 0%. Percent started matters – 0% started throttles your FGW down to zero.

For a longer explanation, check out the 2023 FGW launch on my blog. The stat hasn’t changed since its inception.

Who Won Week 15?

# Player Pos Pts %St FGW
1 Josh Allen QB 43.3 100% 0.40
2 Davante Adams WR 38.3 83% 0.36
3 Lamar Jackson QB 41.1 95% 0.35
4 Amon-Ra St. Brown WR 30.3 98% 0.34
5 Mike Evans WR 32.4 90% 0.34
6 James Conner RB 28.3 87% 0.26
7 Jahmyr Gibbs RB 25.9 98% 0.26
8 Chase Brown RB 24.8 96% 0.23
9 James Cook RB 25.8 85% 0.22
10 Kansas City D/ST DEF 21.0 80% 0.22
11 CeeDee Lamb WR 22.1 93% 0.20
12 Jared Goff QB 46.1 43% 0.18
13 A.J. Brown WR 21.0 92% 0.18
14 Jalen Hurts QB 30.1 91% 0.18
15 Brandon Aubrey K 16.0 95% 0.16
  • Not only did Josh Allen have 0.40 FGW in Week 15, and not only has he led the league in FGW for two weeks in a row, but he became the first player since I started tracking FGW in 2021 to have an FGW score of 0.40 or more in consecutive weeks. And he didn’t take a good fantasy day away from his running back. Bravo.
  • Most of Davante Adams’ production came after 93% of Week 15 was already complete.
  • Lamar Jackson almost snuck up on everyone to steal the Cooper Kupp Golden Barrel. Despite the last two weeks, he’s had a better fantasy season than Josh Allen.
  • While I don’t like to talk too much about my fantasy teams, I will point out one instance I had in Week 15 for the sake of camaraderie with all my readers. There’s this situation that comes up from time to time where a particular player almost seems to have it out for your fantasy team. The way it goes is you have him in one league and you’re playing against him in another. He has a great game – destroying your team facing him – but not a great enough game to win it for the team where you’re starting him. That happened to me with Mike Evans in Week 15. Is there a name for that situation? It needs a name. I’ll work on it.

Who Lost Week 15?

# Player Pos Pts %St FGW
15 Jauan Jennings WR 4.1 64% -0.11
14 Marvin Harrison WR 4.2 65% -0.11
13 Joe Mixon RB 8.1 97% -0.11
12 Isiah Pacheco RB 5.2 65% -0.11
11 Jaylen Waddle WR 0.0 47% -0.12
10 Amari Cooper WR 0.0 49% -0.12
9 Tua Tagovailoa QB 4.8 40% -0.13

7 Chuba Hubbard RB 6.9 94% -0.13
6 Derrick Henry RB 6.7 100% -0.15
5 David Montgomery RB 5.5 89% -0.15
4 Tyreek Hill WR 4.6 95% -0.15
3 Brock Purdy QB 4.0 47% -0.16
2 Kyler Murray QB 10.1 72% -0.17
1 Cooper Kupp WR 0.0 90% -0.23
  • Don’t mind me, just Googling if Cooper Kupp got injured. Again.
  • Najee Harris must’ve been Googling “What year is it?” and came up with 2023. Someone tell him it’s not 2023 anymore.
  • Derrick Henry was leading the race for FGW as recently as Week 11 when his 1.49 outpaced Saquon Barkley‘s 1.42, Ja’Marr Chase‘s 1.33 and Lamar Jackson‘s 1.33. Since then, he’s down to 1.35, almost falling to second place in the Alabama running back alumni standings behind Jahmyr Gibbs.
  • Every year, fantasy managers have a player or two they swear they will never draft again. For a lot of people this season, that was C.J. Stroud. For myself? Kyler Murray. This was his seventh week at -0.10 FGW or worse.
  • If not for Christian McCaffrey barely playing this season, Tyreek Hill would have been the fantasy bust of 2024. It would have been unheard of a year ago for Hill to be at only 95% started when healthy.

# Player Pos Pts %St bFGW
1 Aaron Rodgers QB 33.1 4% 0.24
2 Jared Goff QB 46.1 43% 0.24

4 Rashod Bateman WR 21.5 3% 0.20
5 Brian Thomas Jr. WR 27.5 44% 0.17
6 Jalen Coker WR 19.0 0% 0.15

14 Davante Adams WR 38.3 83% 0.07
15 Josh Whyle TE 12.2 0% 0.07
  • Aaron Rodgers, when facing the Jacksonville Jaguars, had a percent started rate of 4%. Strange times.
  • Speaking of Jaguars, Brian Thomas Jr. aka “Bryan Jr.” was channeling Jimmy Smith with that prowler throwback. Side note: The classic Jags uniform is one of my absolute favorites. It was a crime to change to anything else.
  • It was a mistake to go with the (Brenton) Strange tight end in Week 15. The better choice was the (Stone) Smartt tight end.
  • Baker Mayfield scored more points on the bench, as his percent started dropped to 40%. He’s going to set a bench FGW record this year that may never be broken.
  • Something woke Tyjae Spears up. Maybe he wants the drone operators to draft him next season.
