Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, we have finally made it. In the words of NFL Redzone host Scott Hanson, “We have reached THE WITCHING HOUR!”, of the fantasy football regular season. Where wins could lead to byes and entry into the playoffs. And losses could cost you byes and a spot in the playoffs.
This is the most crucial week of the season to date. In addition to the pressure of the looming playoffs, there are six teams on bye in Week 14. They include some of the hottest offenses in the NFL with the Ravens, Commanders, Broncos, and Texans all off this week, alongside the Colts and the Patriots as well.
Therefore, matchup selection is even more important than ever before. So, here are the top 6 fantasy football WR/CB matchups to know for Week 14.

Wide Receiver vs. Cornerback Fantasy Football Matchups: Week 14
Drake London (WR – ATL) vs. Fabian Moreau (CB – MIN)
Drake London comes into this week as the WR6 overall. However, the Atlanta Falcons, and Kirk Cousins, have struggled as of late. Therefore, some fantasy managers will be concerned about the ceiling that London has. Although these concerns are valid, this matchup against Moreau and the Minnesota Vikings is a great opportunity for London to put up some strong fantasy numbers.
According to FantasyPoints Data, London is managing an impressive 0.50 fantasy points per route run and an even more impressive 29.1% targets per route run. Only three players playing in Week 14 have a higher targets per route run percentage than London.
London faces Moreau who is being targeted on 25% of the routes run against him. Nobody has a higher rate than Moreau that is playing in Week 14. Moreau is also allowing 0.45 fantasy points per route run against him so far this season. Once again, no one is allowing more than Moreau that is featuring in Week 14.
This should be a plus matchup for London. And, if the Falcons can find their offense again and get the ball to London, he could be staring down the barrel of a WR1 week this week.
Calvin Ridley (WR – TEN) vs. Ronald Darby (CB – JAC)
Calvin Ridley comes into this week as the WR26. He had some tough fantasy weeks when Mason Rudolph was the quarterback and had a couple of games since that have seen him drop just outside the WR2 mark by just 1.9 fantasy points.
However, Ridley has an excellent matchup this week as he faces the depleted Jacksonville Jaguars who have likely lost quarterback Trevor Lawrence for the rest of the season. With the Jaguars struggling to move the football with Mac Jones as the signal caller, Ridley has every opportunity to have additional offensive possession in order to put up some strong fantasy numbers this week.
Ridley is up against Ronald Darby this week. Darby is allowing 0.41 fantasy points per route run, according to FantasyPoints Data. This is the second most allowed of any cornerback playing in Week 14, trailing just Moreau.
Ridley should have a safe floor and can be considered a high ceiling play. Fantasy managers should start Ridley with confidence this week.
George Pickens (WR – PIT) vs. Martin Emerson (CB – CLE)
George Pickens is the WR19 so far this season. However, Pittsburgh, and quarterback Russell Wilson, have seemed to have found their groove in recent weeks and are delivering some offensive performances the fans have been crying out for for the past few years.
Pickens has an opportunity to move closer to the WR1 tier this week as he takes on Martin Emerson and the Cleveland Browns team that were scored on at will by the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.
Emerson is allowing 0.31 fantasy points per route run against him. However, Pickens is averaging 0.45 fantasy points per route run and has a 24.8% target per route run average across the season. Expect Pickens to be targeted regular and often this week. Fantasy managers should view Pickens as a safe WR2 play with WR1 upside this week.
Other Notable Advantageous Matchups
Malik Nabers (WR – NYG) vs. Alontae Taylor (CB – NO)
Mike Evans (WR – TB) vs. Decamerion Richardson (CB – LV)
Keenan Allen (WR – CHI) vs. Nick McCloud (CB – SF)
Khalil Shakir (WR – BUF) vs. Quentin Lake (CB – LA)
Ladd McConkey (WR – LAC) vs. Chamarri Conner (CB – KC)
Challenging Wide Receiver Matchups
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR – SEA) vs. Garrett Williams (CB – ARI)
Jaxon Smith-Njigba appears in this second of the column for the second straight week. That is because he is yet against up against one of the best corners in the NFL. Last week Smith-Njigba returned 9.9 fantasy points and a WR33 finish. It appears his projected outcome will be similar this week.
Garrett Williams is only currently allowing 0.13 fantasy points per route run against him according to FantasyPoints Data. Due to a quirk in the schedule, these two face off for the second time in three weeks. Williams in that game only made 3 tackles as the Seahawks did not target him often in coverage. In fact, according to Pro Football Reference, Williams was only targeted twice in the whole game. Once, when he was beaten by D.K Metcalf. And the other was an interception he made in the Endzone.
Smith-Njigba had some success two weeks ago on his way to a WR11 finish in Week 12. However, 75% of his points came on just two reception. Fantasy managers should exercise caution this week.
Puka Nacua (WR -LAR) vs. Christian Benford (CB – BUF)
Puka Nacua is always a must start option. However, his targets could be lower this week due to this tough matchup against Christian Benford and the Buffalo Bills.
Nacua, with a healthy 0.59 fantasy points per route run and 31% targets per route run (both of these marks are the second highest of any wide receiver playing in Week 14 across the season), is always a start option.
However, against Christian Benford there is some caution to be required here. The expectation is Nacua is likely to finish as a high end WR2 as opposed to a high end WR1 this week. You can also expect Cooper Kupp to be the beneficiary of this matchup. Benford is only allowing 0.17 fantasy points per route run against him so far this season.
Adam Thielen (WR – CAR) vs. Cooper DeJean (CB – PHI)
Adam Thielen was one of the Week 14 hot Waiver Wire adds after a strong performance in Week 13. However, fantasy managers should considering sitting Thielen against one of the best young corners in the NFL.
Thielen has a lot of experience and has helped provide Bryce Young with an extra weapon. However, this is not the week to risk a fantasy playoff spot or bye on Thielen unless you as a fantasy manager are desperate.
Cooper DeJean is only allowing 0.21 fantasy points per route run and will be relishing the chance to contain one of the more experienced wide receivers in the NFL.
Other Notable Challenging Matchups
Quentin Johnston (WR – LAC) vs. Joshua Williams (CB – KC)
Ja’Marr Chase (WR – CIN) vs. Trevon Diggs (CB – DAL)
Garrett Wilson (WR – NYJ) vs. Jalen Ramsey (CB – MIA)
Tyreek Hill (WR – MIA) vs. Sauce Gardner (CB – NYJ)
CeeDee Lamb (WR – DAL) vs. Mike Hilton (CB – CIN)
