Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups (Week 15)

Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books. Hopefully, your team pulled out the victory. However, the only easy win was last week’s win. So, let’s look at the top streaming quarterback options for Week 15.

All the quarterbacks in this article are rostered in under 50% of ESPN 1QB leagues and under 35% in superflex leagues.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups

Streaming Targets in 1QB Leagues

Caleb Williams (CHI) vs. Minnesota Vikings (47.9% Rostered)

Williams has had a rocky rookie season. He is the QB13 for the year, averaging 15.7 fantasy points per game. The former USC star had zero passing touchdowns in six of his first 10 games, including four consecutive contests following the Bears’ bye week. However, Williams has significantly improved since Thomas Brown took over calling plays. The rookie has averaged 1.8 passing touchdowns and 20.8 fantasy points per game over the past month, totaling 16.2 or more in every contest, including over 26 twice in the past three weeks.

Furthermore, Williams has had two or more passing touchdowns in three consecutive games despite facing multiple talented defenses. More importantly, he had arguably his best game this year in the Week 12 matchup against the Vikings, totaling 340 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 26.9 fantasy points. Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins struggled against Minnesota last week. However, the Vikings had surrendered 298.3 passing yards and 19.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over their previous three matchups. The Bears will be heavy underdogs, allowing Williams to rack up fantasy points.

Matthew Stafford (LAR) vs. San Francisco 49ers (38.2% Rostered)

Last week, the Rams got the upset victory over the Buffalo Bills despite Josh Allen becoming the first player with three passing touchdowns and three rushing scores in a game. Stafford played a massive role in the team’s victory, completing 76.7% of his pass attempts for 320 yards, two touchdowns, and 20.8 fantasy points. He set season highs in completion rate and passing yards in Week 14. More importantly, Stafford has been outstanding over the past seven weeks with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in the lineup.

The veteran has averaged 2.3 passing touchdowns and 19.4 fantasy points per game over the past seven weeks, totaling two or more scores in all but one contest, including four consecutive matchups. Furthermore, Stafford has averaged 2.5 passing touchdowns and 20.9 fantasy points per game over the past month. Meanwhile, the 49ers have surrendered two passing touchdowns and 19 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past three weeks. While he only scored 12.8 fantasy points against San Francisco in Week 4, Stafford didn’t have his two superstar receivers.

Streaming Targets in Superflex Leagues

Will Levis (TEN) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (27.9% Rostered)

Unfortunately, Levis was a massive bust in Week 14 despite facing a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that had surrendered 22.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the first 13 weeks, the most in the NFL. He finished with only 168 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and seven fantasy points. More importantly, the second-year pro aggravated the AC joint sprain that cost him three games earlier this year before halftime. Yet, fantasy players in superflex leagues should consider starting Levis this week because of the matchup against the Bengals.

Cincinnati’s defense played well over the first two weeks, surrendering only 21 fantasy points to Jacoby Brissett and Patrick Mahomes. Unfortunately, they’ve struggled since the hot start, giving up two passing touchdowns and 23.5 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past two weeks. Furthermore, the Bengals have been awful at stopping opposing attacks heading into tonight’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. They surrendered 333.7 passing yards, three touchdowns, and 28.3 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks, allowing 24.4 or more in every contest.

Jameis Winston (CLE) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (19.9% Rostered)

Winston has averaged two passing touchdowns and 20.3 fantasy points per game in his six starts this season. However, he is the ultimate boom-or-bust quarterback, making massive throws downfield while throwing a pick-six on the next play. Unfortunately, Winston has a similar boom-or-bust weekly fantasy outcome. The former No. 1 NFL Draft pick had 33 fantasy points against the Denver Broncos in Week 13 despite having three interceptions, totaling 497 passing yards and four touchdowns. By comparison, he had 212 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 15.3 fantasy points last week.

However, the veteran is the perfect streaming option in Week 15 for fantasy players who need to chase upside in the first round of the playoffs. Last week, the Chiefs surrendered 13.7 fantasy points to Justin Herbert despite missing Ladd McConkey. Furthermore, Kansas City has given up 1.5 passing touchdowns and 18.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past six weeks. The Browns will likely have to chase points in the second half, which could lead to a massive fantasy performance from Winston despite some likely interceptions.

Streamer to Avoid

Drew Lock (NYG) vs. Baltimore Ravens (1.3% Rostered)

Typically, streaming articles provide which players to target off the waiver wire. However, I will give one quarterback that fantasy players should avoid streaming each week.

Hopefully, fantasy players aren’t desperate enough to consider starting Lock in Week 15. The veteran quarterback has struggled in his two starts, averaging 202.5 passing yards and an interception per game, totaling zero passing scores. Yet, he has averaged 14.9 fantasy points per game as the starter, totaling 14.8 or more in both contests because of his legs. Lock has had at least 57 rushing yards in both starts. Meanwhile, fantasy players might consider starting the veteran as a QB2 this week because of the matchup against a struggling defense.

The Ravens have had one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL this season. They have surrendered the most passing yards to quarterbacks over the first 13 weeks, giving up 283.5 per game. Furthermore, quarterbacks have totaled 22 passing touchdowns against Baltimore, the third-most in the league entering Week 14. While the matchup for Lock sounds outstanding on paper, the Ravens have played better lately. They held Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts to 168 passing yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game over their past two outings.
