Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups (Week 14)

Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books. Hopefully, your team pulled out the victory. However, the only easy win was last week’s win. So, let’s look at the top streaming quarterback options for Week 14.

All the quarterbacks in this article are rostered in under 50% of ESPN 1QB leagues and under 25% in superflex leagues.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups

Streaming Targets in 1QB Leagues

Russell Wilson (PIT) vs. Cleveland Browns (43.8% Rostered)

Last week, fantasy players saw vintage Wilson rip apart the Cincinnati Bengals pass defense. The veteran quarterback completed 76.3% of his pass attempts for 414 yards, three touchdowns, and 26.9 fantasy points, setting season highs in every category. Furthermore, he has played well as the starting quarterback, averaging 1.7 passing touchdowns and 17.3 fantasy points per game, completing over 71% of his attempts in half the contests. More importantly, Wilson has played well in fantasy-friendly matchups, totaling three passing touchdowns in two of the past four games.

The former superstar faces the Browns on Sunday after seeing the division rivals in Week 12. Wilson had only 13.8 fantasy points in the Thursday night matchup two weeks ago. However, the game was impacted by the snow. More importantly, he played well, completing 75% of his pass attempts for 270 yards in the loss. Meanwhile, Cleveland has surrendered 258 passing yards, 1.6 touchdowns, and 18.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past nine weeks, allowing two or more touchdowns in five of their past seven matchups.

Caleb Williams (CHI) vs. San Francisco 49ers (36.9% Rostered)

There has been a lot of movement in Chicago over the past few weeks. The Bears fired Matt Eberflus, promoting Thomas Brown as the interim head coach. Brown was the team’s passing game coordinator three weeks ago before being promoted to offensive coordinator. While Chicago is shuffling around coaches, Williams has played better since Brown took over as the play-caller. The rookie quarterback averaged one passing touchdown and 13.4 fantasy points per game in the nine matchups with Shane Waldron, scoring 11.5 or fewer in over half of the contests.

By comparison, Williams has averaged 23.1 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks with Brown. Furthermore, the former USC star has had back-to-back games with over 26 fantasy points, totaling 596 passing yards, five touchdowns, zero turnovers, and 53 fantasy points over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, the 49ers’ defense has been decimated by injuries. They have surrendered four passing touchdowns and 43 fantasy points to quarterbacks over the past two weeks. Don’t be surprised if Williams leads Chicago to an upset victory over San Francisco.

Streaming Targets in Superflex Leagues

Will Levis (TEN) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (4.7% Rostered)

Levis isn’t the most popular streaming option in fantasy football. However, the second-year quarterback has been productive since returning from a shoulder injury. He averaged 116.5 passing yards, one touchdown, and 7.7 fantasy points per game over the first six weeks, totaling 7.3 or fewer in 60% of the contests. By comparison, Levis has been the QB13 over the past four weeks, averaging 240 passing yards, 1.8 touchdowns, and 16.8 fantasy points per game, scoring two touchdowns and 16.1 or more fantasy points in all but one outing.

Furthermore, the former Kentucky star could have his first game with three passing touchdowns this season in Week 14. Levis faces a Jaguars defense that has surrendered four or more passing touchdowns to quarterbacks in 25% of their games, including a few weeks ago. More importantly, Jacksonville has surrendered 22.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, the most in the NFL. Over the past two weeks, quarterbacks have completed 73.1% of their passes for 345.5 yards, 2.5 touchdowns, and 25.4 fantasy points per game against a struggling Jaguars defense.

Aidan O’Connell (LV) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0.8% Rostered)

Unfortunately, Gardner Minshew suffered a broken collarbone in Week 12, ending his season. However, O’Connell was outstanding in his first start back from a thumb injury, completing 65.7% of his pass attempts for 340 yards, two touchdowns, and 19.6 fantasy points in a near victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The second-year pro set season highs in passing yards, touchdowns, and fantasy points against the division rivals. Meanwhile, the Raiders are heavy underdogs on Sunday against the Buccaneers, suggesting O’Connell will have to chase points for most of the game.

More importantly, the second-year quarterback should have no trouble against the Tampa Bay secondary. They started the season playing well, surrendering only one passing touchdown over the first month. However, the Buccaneers gave up 298 passing yards, a passing touchdown, a rushing score, and 23.6 fantasy points to Bryce Young last week. Furthermore, Tampa Bay has surrendered 3.2 passing touchdowns and 28.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks not named Tommy DeVito or Spencer Rattler over the past nine weeks, allowing two or more touchdowns in 83.3% of the contests.

Streamer to Avoid

Bryce Young (CAR) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (3.8% Rostered)

Typically, streaming articles provide which players to target off the waiver wire. However, I will give one quarterback that fantasy players should avoid streaming each week.

Hopefully, anyone who needed a last-minute replacement quarterback in Week 13 added Young off the waiver wire. The second-year pro was awful to start the season, totaling 245 passing yards, three interceptions, and 11.6 fantasy points over the first two weeks before getting benched. However, he has played well since returning to the starting lineup, averaging 15.1 fantasy points per game over the past six weeks. Furthermore, Young has had back-to-back strong performances, averaging 280.5 passing yards, one touchdown, and 20.1 fantasy points per game in the past two outings.

While he has played well lately, fantasy players should avoid starting Young this week, even in superflex leagues. The Eagles surrendered 237 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 25.4 fantasy points to Lamar Jackson in Week 13. However, a significant chunk of his fantasy production came on the final drive in garbage time. By comparison, Philadelphia held quarterbacks to 13.7 fantasy points per game over the first 12 weeks, the seventh-fewest in the NFL. Furthermore, the Eagles have surrendered one or fewer passing touchdowns in six of their past eight matchups.
