With just 16 games total between Monday and Friday of this week, it’s difficult to assess the trade market through a short-term lens. Unfortunately, though, this week still brought some injury news.
Franz Wagner suffered a torn oblique and Raptors star Scottie Barnes is out with a sprained ankle in what will mark his second stint of missed time this season.
Navigating injuries is a difficult task in fantasy basketball, but it’s a necessary evil. Another edition of trade advice, let’s go.

Fantasy Basketball Trade Advice (Week 7)
Trade For
Independent of the injuries to Orlando’s Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs has enjoyed a career-best season thus far. The Gonzaga product is averaging 16.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists to go along with 1.6 steals and 0.9 blocks per game.
In Suggs’ two most recent games (both without Wagner), he played a combined 69 minutes, took 44 field goals — 21 of which were threes — and scored 58 points. Suggs possesses a sky-high ceiling with Wagner and Banchero out of the lineup.

The recent offensive emergence of Naji Marshall has meant a lessened need for Klay Thompson shot attempts, which are crucial to his fantasy performance. The former Warrior is averaging just a combined 6.1 rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. All this to say that Thompson has an incredibly low floor if he’s not a priority on offense.

Jakob Poeltl has been a force this season. On a hampered Raptors squad, Poeltl posts 15.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 steals per night on 59.3% shooting from the field.
Poeltl will be relied on more than ever with Scottie Barnes out for what’s expected to be a few weeks. Luckily, we already have an idea of what Poeltl can do without Barnes in the lineup this season. In 11 games without Barnes, the big man averages 18.9 points and 11.9 rebounds on 13.6 attempts per game.
Players to Trade Him For Who Are Ranked Higher: DeMar DeRozan (F – SAC), Brandon Miller (F – CHA)
Trade Away
Tobias Harris has been all over the place this season. The veteran forward opened the season with five games shooting under 47% from the field. In five of his next six, Harris hit at least 53%. On top of that, Harris has three games with over five made threes on the year. In every other game, he has hit none, one or two.
Trusting Harris to do anything with consistency except rebounding (6.9 per game) is a mistake.
