If you’re reading this, you’re looking for advice to help you advance in the fantasy playoffs. Congratulations on making it this far, but now is the time to get serious. There is no tomorrow, as it is one-and-done to the championship.
Most of the questions asked this week concerned which players we should start and sit during the playoffs. Fantasy Football Burning Questions: Week 15 (2024)
Easiest
Chuba Hubbard has been an unexpected fantasy darling as he currently sits at RB12. He might sneak into the top 10 after the season is over.
He comes in with the sixth-easiest playoff schedule, which includes a matchup this week against Dallas. The Cowboys have struggled against the ground game as they are 27th in rushing success rate allowed and have given up 12+ fantasy points to the running backs in six of their last eight games.
Bo Nix had a slow start to the year, but he’s come along in a big way and has five top-10 finishes in his last nine games.
He faces an Indianapolis team this week who have allowed 20+ points in three of their last five games. After that, it’s the Chargers, who he finished as the QB9 against that week when they last played. Nix then finishes it off against Cincinnati, who are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
Tony Pollard saw a massive boost in carries last week with 21. He also logged his second 100+ rushing effort in the last three games, so the Titans will likely favor him for the remainder of the season.
He gets Cincinnati this week, who ranks 20th in points allowed to the running back, and then two familiar foes: Indianapolis (14.8 fantasy points per game) and Jacksonville (12.4 fantasy points per game).
Toughest
Najee Harris (RB – PIT)/Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT)
The Steelers’ backfield has been difficult to decipher. In some weeks, it has been Najee Harris leading the way. In other weeks, Jaylen Warren leads in carries. A running back by committee situation is never fun to ride with during the season, especially in the playoffs, because your season could be over if you don’t choose the right guy.
The Steelers also have the toughest remaining schedule for running backs, facing Philadelphia, Baltimore and Kansas City in the fantasy playoffs.
With many big-name rookie wide receivers this year, Brian Thomas Jr. wasn’t the highlighted player coming into the year, but he’s tied with Malik Nabers at WR9 for the most fantasy points by a rookie receiver.
His schedule makes you nervous as he faces the Jets this week and then Tennessee. He had just 8.6 fantasy points in his last matchup against the Titans. Thomas will also have backup Mac Jones throwing to him, as Trevor Lawrence is likely done for the year.
Geno Smith has been unable to replicate his 2022 season, where he finished as the QB5. Last year, he was QB19, and he’s the QB13 this year. He was the QB21 in his previous three games. The Seahawks have only passed on 55% of their plays in that span, way down from the 62% they average this year.
Smith has a brutal schedule against the tough NFC North, with matchups against Green Bay, Minnesota and Chicago. They’re winning by leaning to the run. With a slight lead in the division, they will continue to ride with what works.
