Week 11 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups (2024 Fantasy Football)

Week 10 is now in the books. There are numerous storylines to track, but perhaps the most significant is the overlooked IDP players who showed out in Week 10. There were a lot of defensive fireworks in Week 10, so there are more than a few intriguing names on the waiver wire in leagues of all sizes. Let’s take a look at some of the names that may be worth some of your free agent budget.

Week 11 IDP Waiver Wire

Linebacker

DeMarvion Overshown (LB – DAL): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Overshown exploded in Week 10, racking up eight solos, three assists, two sacks, and two tackles for loss. The solo count is a welcomed sight, but Overshown has shined even without high solo counts in recent weeks, tallying six total tackles for loss over his last three contests. Oveshown has worked his way into high-end LB2 territory and should be treated as one for a plus Week 11 matchup against the Houston Texans. Add Overshown everywhere; he is a must-start until he cools down.

Jahlani Tavai (LB – NE): 3% rostered on Yahoo
Tavai showed up again in Week 10, this time notching seven solos, two assists, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one pass defended. Tavai is producing at his highest level of the season, recording six or more solos and a sack or a pick in his last two contests. Tavai is still safer to deploy as an LB3 but can be started as an LB2 in a pinch for Week 11, thanks to a plus matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Add Tavai where needed.

Jack Gibbens (LB – TEN): 7% rostered on Yahoo
Gibbens was at it again in Week 10, racking up 10 solos and five assists. Gibbens has been excellent since the Ernest Jones trade and will continue to start even when Jerome Baker is ready for action. He remains a risky play due to a comparable talent behind him, but the team has no plans on making the switch while Gibbens is playing well. Add and start Gibbens as an LB3 play where needed.

Josey Jewell (LB – CAR): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Jewell was at it again in Week 10, tallying two solos, four assists, one tackle for loss, one fumble recovery, one interception, and two passes defended. Jewell has weekly LB1 upside but is better utilized as an LB3 until he shows enough consistency to trust as an LB2 option again. Jewell has a Week 11 bye, so adjust your FAAB bids accordingly, but make the stash where possible.

Blake Cashman (LB – MIN): 2% rostered on Yahoo
Cashman returned to action in Week 10, putting up three solos, two assists, one sack, and one tackle for loss on 80 percent of the snaps. He should be back closer to an everydown role in Week 11 and can be trusted as an LB3 with LB2 upside. He will be an LB2 once he is back to an everydown role, but for now temper expectations as far as his floor is concerned. Add and start Cashman as an LB3 option for a plus Week 11 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Defensive Line

Tuli Tuipulotu (DE/LB – LAC): 1% rostered on Yahoo
Tuli was at it again in Week 10, tallying three solos, two assists, two sacks, and two tackles for loss. Tuipulotu suddenly has 5.5 sacks on the season, with all of them coming in his last three games. He has a string of tougher matchups coming up after completing a plus matchup row of New Orleans, Cleveland, and Tennessee, with Cincinnati and Baltimore next on the docket. Tuli has played his way into the DL2 conversation but should be treated as a DL3 option until he proves he can produce outside of tasty matchups. Add Tuipulotu everywhere.

Bud Dupree (DE/LB – LAC): 0% rostered on Yahoo
Bud Dupree showed up in Week 10, tallying four solos, one assist, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and one forced fumble. Now up to five sacks on the season, Dupree has recorded three of them over his last three contests. He remains more DL3/4 than DL2/3 but is someone to start when needed during the byes. Add Dupree where feasible.

Brian Burns (DE/LB – NYG): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Burns showed up in Week 10, racking up four solos, five assists, one sack, and two tackles for loss. Burns now has a sack in five of his last six games and in six of his last eight. There is no reason for Burns to be available in any league, regardless of provider. Consider Burns a priority target despite heading into a bye week. Treat Burns as a DL1 option going forward.

Jonathon Cooper (DE/LB – DEN): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Cooper has been excellent for the Broncos, most recently notching three solos, three assists, one sack, and one tackle for loss. Cooper is up to 6.5 sacks on the season and should continue to dominate snaps on the edge with Baron Browning out of town. Cooper has recorded a sack in two of his last three games and should be considered an upside DL2 option for a plus Week 11 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Add Cooper where available.

Calijah Kancey (DE/DT – TB): 1% rostered on Yahoo
Calijah was excellent in Week 10, racking up five solos, one sack, two tackles for loss, and one forced fumble. Kancey is sitting at four sacks on the season, with three of them coming in his last two games. He has a bye in Week 11, so there won’t be as much competition for his services as there would otherwise, so take advantage of this fact to stash Kancey where possible. He is a DT1/DL3 as long as he is cooking, and looks like he will be a DT1/2 mainstay for years to come. Add Kancey where needed.

Defensive Back

Jeremy Chinn (S – WAS): 3% rostered on Yahoo
Chinn was excellent in Week 10, racking up six solos, seven assists, one fumble recovery, one interception, and one pass defended. Chinn has recorded six or more solos in three of his last five games and is back in the DB2 mix. Treat him as such for a plus Week 11 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Add Chinn wherever possible.

Tyler Nubin (S – NYG): 3% rostered on Yahoo
Nubin showed up on Sunday morning, putting on for the German audience with eight solos, four assists, and one tackle for loss. Nubin has been quiet over the last few weeks but is a high-level talent, and outings like these serve to highlight that. He remains more DB3 than DB2 due to his weekly floor. Treat him as such for a plus Week 12 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nubin is on bye for Week 11, so plan your FAAB spend accordingly.

Tyrann Mathieu (S – NO): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Tyrann was excellent in Week 10, tallying three solos, one interception, and three passes defended. Mathieu has been inconsistent after a hot start to the season but still boasts DB2 upside with the right matchup. He has one of those matchups in Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns. Add and start Tyrann where needed.

Xavier Woods (S – CAR): 6% rostered on Yahoo
Woods showed up in Week 10, racking up three solos, five assists, one interception, and one pass defended. Woods has been inconsistent, but his spike weeks make him a solid stash target, and should be treated as a DB2/3 option for a plus Week 12 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Stash Woods through the bye week where possible.

Tony Adams (S – NYJ): 2% rostered on Yahoo
Adams was excellent in Week 10, tallying five solos and five assists. It was a strong return to the field after being sidelined with a hamstring injury and puts him squarely back in the DB2/3 mix going forward. Treat him as a DB2 for Week 11, thanks to a tasty matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Add Adams where needed.
