What is Single Player Fantasy Football

Single Player Fantasy Football is a new game mode by our friends at SmashUp Fantasy Sports. It features head-to-head matchups in a tournament style ladder like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, or even Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out.

You are pitted against a boss every week, which, in this case, are Head Coaches. Set your lineup, select your SmashCards, and attempt to outscore the boss (your opponent). Successfully defeat the boss by scoring more points, and you will move on to the next (lose and you can try again). There are six bosses in total. Defeat them all before the end of the NFL regular season, and you win!

The Single Player Campaign is designed so each Head Coach or boss is more challenging than the previous boss. One twist to make a note of is that the Head Coaches will have a unique, exclusive SmashCard not available to users. These exclusive cards will become increasingly powerful as you ascend the tournament ladder and will require more skill and strategy to overcome.

Just so the deck isn’t completely stacked against us with a Head Coach lineup that features lineups set by the likes of our very own Pat Fitzmaurice and Andrew Erickson, SmashUp Fantasy Sports will increase your SmashCard budget by $1,000 every week, regardless of whether you win or lose. This will help to hopefully level the playing field as the Head Coach’s budgets will remain unchanged for the duration of the tournament.

The game is completely free to play with no pay-to-win mechanic and offers two ways for players to win prizes. The first 20 players to sign up with the promo code ‘FANTASYPROS24’ and beat the first boss will win $50 (if more than 20 qualify, points scored will be tie-breaker). All users who defeat all six head coaches will be entered into the postseason Tournament of Champions at SmashUp Fantasy Sports, which features over $10,000 in cash prizes.

How it Works

Defeat six Head Coaches in head-to-head fantasy football matchups
The difficulty will increase with each Head Coach

Just like tournament style video games like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, if you beat one Head Coach, you advance to the next. If not, you play them again the following week.
