Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups (Week 13)

Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books. Hopefully, your team pulled out the victory. However, the only easy win was last week’s win. So, let’s look at the top streaming quarterback options for Week 13.

All the quarterbacks in this article are rostered in under 50% of ESPN 1QB leagues and under 25% in superflex leagues.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups

Streaming Targets in 1QB Leagues

Derek Carr (NO) vs. Los Angeles Rams (12.9% Rostered)

Carr was playing his best football since the start of the season before the Saints’ Week 12 bye. The veteran is the QB23 for the year, averaging 15.5 fantasy points per game. Unfortunately, he scored 13.4 or fewer in four consecutive games after starting the season with back-to-back contests with over 21 fantasy points. However, Carr completed 71.2% of his pass attempts for 258.5 yards, two touchdowns, and 19.6 fantasy points per game over the past two contests, totaling two touchdowns and 18.7 or more fantasy points in both matchups.

Fantasy players must love what they’ve seen from the veteran lately. Carr has had back-to-back top-15 finishes before the bye week despite missing his top two wide receivers. Meanwhile, the Rams have surrendered 15.6 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this year. However, they’ve allowed quarterbacks to average 1.8 passing touchdowns and 16.3 fantasy points per game over the past five weeks, including 18 or more in 60% of those contests. Don’t be surprised if Carr and the Saints passing attack has a few new wrinkles coming off the bye.

Will Levis (TEN) vs. Washington Commanders (3.9% Rostered)

While he is guaranteed to have one awful play per game, Levis has been productive for fantasy players since returning from a shoulder injury. The second-year pro averaged one passing touchdown and 7.7 fantasy points per game over the first five contests, totaling 7.3 or fewer in all but two. By comparison, Levis has averaged 1.7 passing touchdowns and 16.9 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks, totaling 15.6 or more in every contest. The former Kentucky star has had at least 278 passing yards in back-to-back games.

By comparison, Levis had under 195 passing yards in five of his first six games, including fewer than 100 twice. Meanwhile, the Commanders’ defense has had issues slowing down quarterbacks lately. They have surrendered 209.3 passing yards, 1.8 touchdowns, and 19.8 fantasy points per game over the past month, giving up 18 or more in every matchup. Furthermore, Washington surrendered two passing touchdowns and 24.4 fantasy points to Daniel Jones a few weeks ago. While he might not have the prettiest outing, Levis should have a solid fantasy performance.

Streaming Targets in Superflex Leagues

Bryce Young (CAR) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3.3% Rostered)

The former No. 1 NFL Draft pick was awful before getting benched, totaling 11.6 fantasy points over his first two starts. However, Young has been productive since earning back the starting role, averaging 196 passing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 13 fantasy points per game over the past four contests. More importantly, he is coming off his best performance of the year against a talented Kansas City Chiefs defense in Week 12. Young had 263 passing yards, a touchdown, and 16.5 fantasy points, setting a season-high in yards and fantasy points.

Furthermore, Carolina joined the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals as the only teams to score 25 or more points against the Chiefs this year. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers “held” Tommy DeVito to 10.8 fantasy points last week. However, they surrendered 23.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the first 11 weeks, the most in the NFL. Tampa Bay gave up 325.5 passing yards, 3.2 touchdowns, and 26.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks in the six matchups before facing DeVito, allowing 23.8 or more in all but one contest.

Cooper Rush (DAL) vs. New York Giants (3.3% Rostered)

Rush showed up on the Cowboys’ estimated practice report on Monday as limited because of a knee injury. However, head coach Mike McCarthy downplayed the injury, suggesting the quarterback will be ready for the Thanksgiving matchup. Rush has been solid in his past two starts, completing 64.4% of his pass attempts for 300.5 yards, 1.5 touchdowns, and 17.2 fantasy points per game, totaling 16.4 or more in both contests. Furthermore, he is coming off his best performance, totaling two passing touchdowns and 18 fantasy points against the Washington Commanders.

After having no trouble last week with Washington’s defense, fantasy players should feel confident starting Rush as a QB2 on Thanksgiving against the Giants. New York allowed Baker Mayfield to complete 80% of his pass attempts for 294 yards and 18.7 fantasy points last week despite not having a passing touchdown. More importantly, they’ve surrendered 17.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this year. The Giants have given up 18.5 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past eight weeks, allowing 18.5 or more in all but two matchups.

Streamer to Avoid

Caleb Williams (CHI) vs. Detroit Lions (36.7% Rostered)

Typically, streaming articles provide which players to target off the waiver wire. However, I will give one quarterback that fantasy players should avoid streaming each week.

Last week, Williams had arguably his best performance this season. The rookie completed 68.1% of his pass attempts for 340 yards, two touchdowns, and 26.9 fantasy points in the overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings. However, the former USC star had severely struggled since the bye week. He averaged 10.4 fantasy points per game over the previous four games before last week’s matchup, scoring single digits in all but one contest. Furthermore, Williams has more games this year without a passing touchdown (six) than contests with over one score (four).

More importantly, the rookie quarterback has scored single-digit fantasy points in nearly half the contests despite averaging 3.1 fantasy points per game with his legs this season. Meanwhile, the Lions have held quarterbacks to 13.4 fantasy points per game, one of the lowest averages in the NFL. They have surrendered only 9.5 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past month, allowing over 11 once. Last week, Anthony Richardson scored 13 fantasy points against Detroit. However, nearly half of his fantasy production came with his legs (46.2%).
