Fantasy Football Injury Report & Week 12 Outlook (2024)

There were several big-name injuries heading into Week 11, especially at the tight end position. Thankfully, Sunday’s slate was light of notable injuries impacting fantasy players’ teams. However, there were a few at the running back position and a significant injury at the wide receiver position that are worth monitoring.

Below are a few fantasy-relevant injuries and some assistance on how fantasy players should approach them. Let’s dive in.

Fantasy Football Injury Report & Week 12 Outlook

Alexander Mattison (RB – LV)

Alexander Mattison was having a solid fantasy performance on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins before suffering an ankle injury. The veteran running back had five rushing attempts for 19 yards and three receptions for 50 receiving yards, totaling 8.4 half-PPR fantasy points. Unfortunately, Mattison didn’t return to the game. While there was no immediate report after the game about the severity of his ankle injury, fantasy players should prepare for the possibility Mattison could miss multiple contests.

Zamir White (RB – LV)

Fantasy players with Mattison would consider making Zamir White their top target off the waiver wire this week if available. However, the veteran also left Sunday’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins with a quad injury. White didn’t return to the game, leading to Ameer Abdullah handling all the work, with Dylan Laube being a healthy scratch. Unfortunately, White dealt with a quad strain a few weeks ago and could have re-injured himself. Abdullah and Laube will be popular names in waiver wire articles this week.

Tyjae Spears (RB – TEN)

The second-year running back has struggled to stay healthy this season. Tyjae Spears missed three games with a hamstring injury. Unfortunately, he was evaluated for a concussion against the Minnesota Vikings. There was no immediate report after the game on whether the second-year pro was in the concussion protocol. Fantasy players might not know until Tuesday if Spears will likely miss time with a concussion or be fine for the Week 12 contest. Regardless, fantasy players likely won’t start the second-year pro anytime soon.

Raheem Mostert (RB – MIA)

While De’Von Achane is the fantasy superstar in Miami’s backfield, Raheem Mostert has had a role this season. The veteran running back was a fantasy star in 2023, only to become a glorified handcuff this year. He left Sunday’s matchup with a hip injury. Thankfully, Mostert returned after a brief visit to the medical tent. Fantasy players in deeper leagues should consider adding Jaylen Wright off the wavier wire on the chance Mostert misses time in the future with an injury.

Darnell Mooney (WR – ATL)

Darnell Mooney is the most significant player injured from Week 11. The veteran wide receiver has become a plug-and-play WR2 for most fantasy players. He was on the injury report last week with an Achilles issue but was deemed healthy going into Sunday’s matchup. Hopefully, his hamstring injury is minor, and could have returned to the game if it was a competitive contest. The Falcons have their bye in Week 12, giving Mooney two weeks to heal before the team’s next game.

Puka Nacua (WR – LAR)

Every time Puka Nacua is slow to get up after making a catch, fantasy players hold their breath. The superstar left Sunday’s win over the New England Patriots after landing on his shoulder while scoring a touchdown. Thankfully, he returned to the game and had an outstanding performance, totaling seven receptions on nine targets for 123 receiving yards, a touchdown and 21.8 half-PPR fantasy points. Nacua will likely appear on the injury report this week but should be fine to play in Week 12.
