Week 6 is here, and the NBA season is firing on all cylinders. High-Level Baller
Jared McCain is playing at a high level, and it feels like this is only the beginning. There’s a unique satisfaction in rostering a player who blossoms into a fantasy gem, but it’s something entirely different to snag one who’s on the verge of becoming a bona fide star. If you jump on the McCain train now, you’ll have the bragging rights to say, “I believed when no one else did.” While the window to maximize his value might have been last week, it’s still not too late, he remains under-rostered in far too many leagues.
Confidence, Grit and Leadership
McCain’s confidence, grit and leadership ability to step up during challenging times for both his team and city speak volumes. Much like Tyrese Maxey, McCain has entered a high-pressure environment and thrived. Playing alongside Joel Embiid, Maxey and Paul George isn’t for the faint of heart, yet McCain has risen to the occasion. He’s currently averaging 16.5 points per game, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. His potential to evolve into a multi-categorical specialist capable of contributing in both major and niche categories makes him a must-add.

Limited Games, Long-Term Potential
Yes, the Sixers only have two games this week, which might not be ideal for immediate returns. However, to win a war, sometimes you have to sacrifice a battle. McCain’s long-term value is undeniable, and he likely won’t be available next week, even in the shallowest of leagues. Whether he soars to new heights or simply maintains his current production, he’s a player worth investing in now. For Philadelphia fans, McCain represents hope for the post-championship era-a glimpse of the rebuild done right.
Alternative Options
If McCain’s limited two-game schedule leaves you searching for alternatives, consider the following options: Stephon Castle, Malik Beasley, and Brandon Boston Jr. Among these, Malik Beasley and Brandon Boston Jr. stand out with four games each this week.
Their potential for volume shooting and production could provide a significant lift to your team, especially in leagues where consistent scoring is critical. These players offer respectable upside and could serve as strong contingency plans if McCain’s limited schedule doesn’t align with your team’s needs.

A Veteran Presence with Untapped Potential
Malcolm Brogdon may only be averaging 0.7 assists per game this season, but there’s a clear pathway for him to become an invaluable multi-category asset. If he remains healthy and the Wizards can realign their vision to reflect what they initially planned when bringing him aboard, Brogdon could thrive. Historically, Brogdon has averaged 4.7 assists per game throughout his career, a testament to his ability to facilitate even while playing as a complementary piece alongside elite playmakers.

Health Concerns vs. Consistency
Brogdon’s health issues have often overshadowed his potential, but his injury woes are more about quality than quantity. While his ailments may lead to sporadic absences, he has often rebounded from setbacks to finish out seasons at a high level. This pattern bodes well in the context of his current situation, as it suggests he could be primed for a productive stretch run. However, the Wizards’ apparent rebuild/tanking strategy casts a shadow over how much we can trust the infrastructure around him to consistently support his fantasy value.
Filling the Facilitator Void
Brogdon is uniquely positioned to elevate the Wizards, acting as a stabilizing force amidst their roster’s identity crisis. While Jordan Poole is thriving, his long-term outlook as a facilitator is shaky, at best. Carlton Carrington, on the other hand, profiles more as a scoring threat than a true playmaker. If the team pivots to prioritize offensive firepower, Brogdon’s ability to facilitate could become a critical complement to Poole’s scoring focus. This dynamic also allows Brogdon to build out ancillary stats, which could make him a multi-category gem for fantasy managers.
A Strong Return
In his first serious game back, Brogdon didn’t just ease into action, he put up an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double against the league-leading Celtics. While unconventional for a guard, this performance highlights his ability to contribute across categories in unexpected ways. With the Wizards’ current rotation and strategy in flux, Brogdon’s versatility could help unlock the potential of both his teammates and your fantasy lineup.
A Two-Week Play With Upside
Brogdon is a smart pickup for managers looking to balance immediate returns with long-term potential. While the Wizards only have three games this week, their four-game schedule next week sets Brogdon up to deliver consistent production over a crucial stretch. His facilitation skills, paired with his multi-category upside, make him an appealing option, especially for managers who value reliability in an otherwise chaotic season.

A Rookie on the Rise
The Portland Trail Blazers are a team with immense talent but seem to be plagued by a lack of clear direction from a coaching and organizational standpoint. This disarray has led to mixed outcomes, frustrating fans and fantasy managers alike who see the potential in a roster brimming with players you can’t help but root for. Despite these challenges, rookie Donovan Clingan has shown flashes of brilliance that hint at his ability to become a dominant force in the league, possibly as early as this season.
The Minnesota Breakout and Its Aftermath
Clingan’s standout moment came against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he logged his only 30-minute game and nearly posted a triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks. That performance showcased his incredible potential and solidified his status as a future star.
Yet, instead of riding the hot hand, the Blazers have opted to explore their other options, including the enigmatic Robert Williams, a player with both undeniable talent and an unfortunate tendency to leave fans wanting more. While Williams is a compelling asset in his own right, Clingan’s upside makes a strong case for a more prominent role, especially with Deandre Ayton sidelined.
Despite Limited Minutes
Even in a shared role, Clingan has managed to put up impressive numbers. He is currently averaging 6.7 rebounds per game (57th in the league) and an elite 2.2 blocks per game (seventh in the league). These stats highlight his ability to make a significant impact even with limited opportunities. While he may not yet be an ideal asset for managers looking for consistent, high-volume production, his potential to deliver game-changing performances makes him a player worth watching closely.

Late-Season Upside and Greatness
Clingan is shaping up to be a potential late-season difference-maker, especially if the Blazers decide to cash in on their veteran assets and fully commit to their young core around the trade deadline. For those willing to take the leap now, Clingan could be the kind of player who helps anchor your lineup as the season progresses. Much like picking up Stefon Diggs during his rookie season, getting in on Clingan early could be the move that sets you apart.
Buy Now or Stay Ready
With four games on the schedule this week, Clingan offers solid production potential even in limited minutes (15-25 per game). His recent 18-rebound performance against a tough Houston team is a testament to what he can achieve when given the chance. Whether you’re looking for immediate impact or a long-term piece to help you dominate in the back half of the season, Clingan should be on your radar. Don’t miss the chance to secure a player who could become one of the most exciting rookies to watch as the season unfolds.

A Defensive Gem Worth the Investment
Fantasy basketball is a game of strategy and adaptability, where the volatility of scoring and roster changes can turn the tide of a season in an instant. For managers looking to get ahead and start shaping their end-game strategy, players like Donovan Clingan offer a unique opportunity. At 2.2 blocks per game (seventh in the league), Clingan has established himself as a force on the defensive end. With four games this week, he’s well-positioned to make a significant impact on your lineup.
Tighten Your Strategy
The middle of the fantasy season is the perfect time to start tightening your approach. While it’s tempting to continue a loose streaming strategy, the stakes are rising. Injuries, trade rumors and shifting rotations mean now is the time to focus on assets that can sustain success through the All-Star break and into the trade deadline frenzy. Clingan’s ability to contribute in blocks, paired with his potential for growth in other categories, makes him a prime candidate for inclusion in your rotation.
Clingan’s Multi-Categorical Madness
Clingan has the makings of a multi-categorical contributor if the Trail Blazers opt to increase his minutes and let him play in more critical moments. He’s already proven his value on the defensive end. With a bit more opportunity, he could evolve into a cornerstone piece for both the Trail Blazers and fantasy managers alike. His upside is clear. Keeping him close could pay dividends as the season progresses.
Options to Consider
If Clingan’s current situation feels too uncertain due to the team’s rotation decisions, there are other options worth exploring. Tari Eason and Alex Sarr are standout choices, particularly for managers looking for defensive production with fewer barriers to success. Goga Bitadze and Jonathan Isaac also bring unique strengths to the table, while Nick Richards could offer sneaky value when he returns eventually, even as standout Moussa Diabate continues to emerge.

A Dynamo Worth the Patience
Let’s be real, that 18-minute outing against the Bulls on November 17th was a gut-punch for anyone who went all-in on Tari Eason after last week’s article. It felt like a joke; as if we got played. But here’s the thing: That game was a fluke. While there may be more frustrating moments like it, the bigger picture suggests Eason is officially stepping forward and hitting a dominant form that he’s ready to build on.
Eason’s Growth Path
Eason’s ability to stay healthy has been encouraging for managers wary of his history of stop-and-start production. Adjusting to consistent playtime on a talent-rich Rockets squad has been an ebb-and-flow process, but Eason is managing it well. With Houston still figuring out how to maximize its offensive potential, Eason is carving out a niche as a multi-categorical specialist. He may not be filling up the scoring column, but his utility in other categories is undeniable.
Stealing the Spotlight
From a defensive perspective, Eason is elite. He’s currently averaging 2.2 steals per game (fifth in the league) and 1.1 blocks per game (44th in the league). These contributions alone make him a valuable addition to any lineup, particularly for managers looking to lock down defensive categories. Add in his solid efficiency, and Eason becomes an anchor for maintaining competitiveness across multiple categories.
Setting Realistic Expectations
Eason has the potential to be a game-changer, but expectations should remain grounded. His multi-categorical talents are still developing, and while his production may not yet be consistent across all games, his current role offers a solid floor. Managers looking to dominate categories other than points will find Eason’s contributions invaluable.
Play the Long Game
With the Rockets’ schedule hovering around 2-3 games per week over the next month, Eason’s somewhat limited role may temper enthusiasm. However, his defensive production is so impactful that even in a reduced schedule, he can elevate your lineup. Whether you’re looking for category domination or an all-around boost, Eason is a must-have asset who’s worth holding onto as he continues to grow into his full potential.

The “Sleeper” Lighting Up Boston
Mr. Pritchard, I must apologize, I wasn’t paying attention to how you’ve come alive this season. But now? You’ve got my full attention. Payton Pritchard‘s ability to add value no matter the size of his opportunity has always been impressive, but his rise to his current level of productivity on a thriving Celtics team is something else entirely. His ascent has been earned the hard way, and watching him transform into a key contributor has been nothing short of inspiring.
The Hard Way to the Spotlight
Pritchard’s hustle and grit are paying off in a big way. He’s carved out a significant role as the primary backup — and arguably partner — to two of the league’s most impactful players, not the superstars on their teams, in Jrue Holiday and Derrick White. While this might suggest a ceiling for his fantasy appeal in shallower leagues, Pritchard’s importance to the Celtics cannot be overstated. With 27.7 minutes per game and a usage rate of 19% (fourth on the team for players logging at least 25 minutes), Pritchard has cemented himself as a key figure in Boston’s success.
A Sharpshooter with Offensive Heat
Let’s talk numbers. Pritchard is averaging 3.5 three-pointers made per game (15th in the league) on 8.3 attempts, all while shooting an impressive 46.9% from the floor and 41.3% from beyond the arc. Add his 14.5 points per game, and you’ve got a player who’s not only a reliable source of threes but also bringing some much-needed offensive firepower to fantasy lineups.

Long-Term Investment
The dip in his rostership might suggest some see Pritchard as a high-end, practical streaming option. But don’t let that fool you; he’s much more than that. As the Celtics continue their push toward what feels like an inevitable postseason appearance, Pritchard’s value will only rise. He’s the kind of player who can anchor your fantasy team’s endgame strategy while also positioning the Celtics for another championship run.
Whether you’re making an acquisition now or holding out for mid-to-late season payoffs, Pritchard is a player you want in your corner. Congratulations, Pritchard, you’ve earned your spot as one of the season’s most exciting fantasy assets.

A Second Serving
Let me be upfront, this is Christian Braun‘s second consecutive week in this spot, and for good reason. At just 52% rostered, his availability is still surprisingly high, likely due to the fresh yet chaotic start to the season. That said, his presence here isn’t just a testament to his availability but also to how undeniably good he has been. Braun isn’t just a potential asset — he’s an immediate one, thriving in his role on this championship-caliber Denver squad.
From Possibility to Reality
In only his second season, Braun has transformed from a hopeful role player into a reliable contributor for one of the league’s best teams. With rotations still settling across the league, Braun has already cemented himself as a pivotal piece of the Nuggets’ core. It’s not just about his potential, it’s about what he’s already produced. Let’s not take this for granted. Now is the time to cash in on his upside while he’s still widely available.
All-Around Production
Braun’s numbers speak for themselves. He’s shooting a robust 55.6% from the floor (77th in the league), turning his opportunities into efficient and impactful offensive production. Averaging 16.2 points on 10.4 attempts per game, he’s also making his presence felt across multiple categories with 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. This multi-categorical production makes him more than just a short-term option, he’s a foundation piece for managers looking to solidify their rosters.

Welcome back to the Hunt
De’Andre Hunter has always been offensively gifted, and the fact he is finally back and thriving shows he is the kind of asset you can rely on in real and fantasy basketball. He is averaging a nice 17.7 points per game while shooting a clean 46.1% from the floor, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc, and even better, a nice 88.9% from the free-throw line on very nice 4.5 attempts per game.
He is the kind of offensive multi-categorical asset that can tear the top off of your offensive production. He should be considered a reasonably high-priority asset as we get deeper into the season as the Hawks continue to figure things out as they get more potent in the east.
