Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (10/30)
Anthony Davis (F/C – LAL): 24.5 points (alt line)
Anthony Davis has been spectacular to start the season, scoring 29 or more points in each of his games for a 32.8 ppg average through four contests. Davis may finally be turning the corner as a featured option, which we all know is something he is capable of but that he has not quite got right since being traded to the Lakers. Davis will have a tougher test tonight against Cleveland due to the presence of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. With that being said, Davis scored 32 and 22 in his two games against Cleveland last season. He should be able to hit at least 25 tonight unless they decide it’s LeBron’s time to shine due to playing in Cleveland. Dap the More on Davis for Wednesday Night Basketball.
Pick: More
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): 5.5 1st quarter points
Mitchell has started hot out of the gate in two of his four contests, scoring seven or more points in the first quarter of two of those games. Donovan has been a notable hot starter but has been a bit inconsistent to start the season. One thing of note is that he failed to score more than six points in the first quarter against Washington and Detroit while hitting seven or more against Toronto and New York. I personally think that Toronto is more similar to Washington and Detroit, but Scottie Barnes being on the other side may have helped Mitchell get up for an early season contest. Mash the More on Mitchell for Wednesday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 5.5 1st quarter points
Cade has alternated hot starts with slower ones by his standards but is still one of the premier first quarter scorers when he starts aggressive. Cade has scored nine or more first quarter points in two of his four games so far and has an excellent opportunity to hit at least six tonight, especially with Tyrese Maxey likely to have a strong start of his own. Look for Cade to look to try keep pace with the all-star point guard. Clap the More on Cade for Wednesday night’s action.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
