Nick Chubb (knee) has been ruled out for Week 5’s game against the Washington Commanders.

Chubb has officially been ruled out for Sunday’s game. This should come as no surprise, as he has less than a week of practice under his belt after spending the first four games of the season on injured reserve. Jerome Ford will continue to see the bulk of the work in the meantime, but the 28-year old will be back in the lineup in the very near future.

He has been limited at each of his first two practices back, and the team is trying to take it slow with his recovery to ensure he doesn’t suffer a setback. It looks like he’s more likely to sit out this week than play, but he should be back out on the field at some point in the next few weeks.

His practice window to return from knee surgery is officially open, which means he’s someone to stash in an open IR spot in deeper leagues. Returning to form after such a gruesome injury might take some time, but Chubb would be a remarkable guy to plug in down the stretch and in the fantasy playoffs if he’s anything close to his vintage self.
