Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for this week’s NFL action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NFL more/less picks.
Sleeper Picks NFL Week 8
2024 Season record: 14-7
Derrick Henry (RB – BAL): 74.5 rushing yards (alt line)
King Henry continues to roll for the Baltimore Ravens. He is on an incredible pace through seven games and has turned an already must-watch Ravens team into appointment television. The war horse has rumbled for 743 rushing yards in his last five games alone for a 148.6 average. For context, that is more rushing yards than 12 different NFL teams have all season. The total here is set at a robust 96.5, which, in all likelihood, Henry will top anyway, but the play here is to sacrifice some multiplier for the vastly improved probability on the 74.5 number, which he can hit in one half. Hit the More on Henry for Week 8 at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Malik Nabers (WR – NYG): 65.5 receiving yards
Sam LaPorta at 35.5 is the play here if you want an all Sunday ticket, as he should easily eclipse 36 receiving yards with Jameson Williams suspended. However, Malik Nabers is going to be featured in this column all season. Nabers had a bit of a letdown production wise in Week 7 but should see something closer to his normal target volume in Week 8. The Giants are not going to be very good on offense this season, but the short game is clicking and is an area in which Nabers thrives in. The alt line of 49.5 is extremely tempting and should be the route those who are more risk-averse take, especially with the Steelers on deck, but for those who want some beef in their multiplier, stick with the 65.5. Nabers recorded 78 or more receiving yards in three straight before the Week 7 return from the concussion. Expect the target hog to roll on Monday night. Mash the More on Malik for Monday Night Football.
Pick: More
Davante Adams (WR – NYG): 58.5 receiving yards
Adams had a disappointing start to his Jets tenure, but it was not due to a lack of targets. Look for Adams to have more variance to where he lines up now that he is more immersed with the current version of the playbook. Davante saw nine targets in Week 7 and could see even more this week if he gets going early as expected. This is not and will not be the Davante show, as Garrett Wilson remains a highly talented receiver, but turning Adams loose should be priority number two right behind walking out of New England with a win. If Adams comes close to his Sleeper Picks reception total of 5.5, he will easily surpass 59 receiving yards against the Patriots. Dap the More on Davante for Week 8.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper, so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
