Fantasy Football Trade Advice

Travis Etienne Jr. (RB – JAC)

“It’s time to sell Travis Etienne. While I’m buying in on Brian Thomas Jr. I’m selling Etienne, given his inconsistency and lack of production in the passing game. We all coveted Etienne as a dual-threat back in fantasy this season, but that just hasn’t fully materialized. While his targets have been solid, he’s only managed to convert 15 targets into 48 receiving yards. He’s also been uninspiring on the ground, ceding more and more touches to the somehow more explosive Tank Bigsby. While Bigsby won’t outright take over this backfield, he is a threat to increase his workload and turn Etienne into more of a receiving back. If this happens, it’ll mean the current RB26 in half PPR leagues may be sitting at his ceiling rather than his floor. I’d move Etienne for Chase Brown, Joe Mixon, or DeVonta Smith coming off an injury.”

Sam Darnold (QB – MIN) | Justin Fields (QB – PIT)

“Sell high on overachieving quarterbacks. The two that come to mind are Sam Darnold and Justin Fields who sit as QB4 and QB6 respectively. In his career, Darnold has never maintained a pace anywhere near this level for more than a handful of games and is sure to come back down to earth and settle back in as a mid-range QB2. As for Fields, the way he has been winning is not conducive to him repeating the performance long-term. He has been producing with his arm instead of his legs which is not his strength, in addition to this, much of his production is his own doing as his poor play has put the Steelers in bad spots, leading to him having to put up big numbers to win. There is a real Blake Bortles vibe to Fields this season.”
Aaron St Denis (Fantasy Football Universe)

De’Von Achane (RB – MIA)

“Not only do the Dolphins have no Offensive Line, but Raheem Mostert might be back this week. De’Von Achane is taking way too many hits this early in the season and it is starting to show, as Achane does not look like the explosive player he was early on this season. Expect Mostert to get back into the thick of things as the Dolphins will be a run-heavy team with Huntley at QB, and Huntley will take a lot of goal-line carries away from both Mostert and Achane. I would try to trade Achane for Tyreek Hill or Garrett Wilson, there is no way in the world Achane will be a workhorse RB this season, you might as well get a star WR while you can. Dolphins Bye is Week 6, good time to move Achane now before his value disappears into the Rachaad White/Bucky Irving category.”
