Rashee Rice (knee) placed on injured reserve
The Chiefs are officially placing Rashee Rice (knee) on injured reserve, leaving him sidelined for at least the next four weeks.

Fantasy Impact

Rice suffered a serious knee injury during Week 4’s win over the Chargers, and the team is now officially placing him on injured reserve. The team is waiting for additional testing before determining whether or not the injury is season ending, but either way, he is going to be out for the next four weeks at the very least. This is bad news for Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City’s offense as a whole, but it may open up more opportunities for players like Xavier Worthy and Justin Watson moving forward.

Christian Watson (ankle) misses practice again Thursday
Christian Watson (ankle) missed another practice on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Watson missed a second-straight practice on Thursday due to the ankle injury that he suffered in Week 4. This shouldn’t be surprising to fantasy managers, as there is already pessimism for his availability for the near future. Dontayvion Wicks should continue to be a good fantasy option for however long Watson remains out moving forward.

Khalil Shakir (ankle) doesn’t practice again Thursday
Khalil Shakir (ankle) didn’t practice yet again on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Thursday marks the second-straight practice that Shakir has missed because of an ankle injury. His status for Week 5 is up in the air right now, but we should get some more clarity about his status following Friday’s practice. Rookie Keon Coleman will be in line for a bigger role if the veteran misses Sunday’s game.
