Derek Carr suffers oblique injury in loss Monday
Derek Carr completed 18-of-28 passing attempts for 165 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception before leaving Monday night’s 26-13 loss to the Chiefs with an oblique injury.

Fantasy Impact

Carr was able to score twice on Monday night, but outside of that, not much was going right for him. He threw an interception and wasn’t able to get the ball moving for New Orleans’ offense, and he ended up suffering an apparent oblique injury towards the end of the game. The severity of it remains unknown at this point, but fantasy managers should be sure to monitor his status over the course of the week.

Rashee Rice may only need LCL repaired, expected to make a full recovery
Chiefs WR Rashee Rice received the good news on Monday that there is a chance that the LCL is the only ligament he needs repaired during surgery. He is still expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 season, yet should make a full recovery.

Fantasy Impact

Rice is already on injured reserve and he should receive an official timetable on his recovery once they undergo surgery on Tuesday. During his extended absence, expect Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson and JuJu Smith-Schuster to lead the Chiefs WR group.

Travis Etienne Jr. held out late after getting ‘popped in shoulder’ Sunday
Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said Travis Etienne Jr. “got popped in the shoulder again” and that’s why he was held out at the end of the game.

Fantasy Impact

Pederson added that he expects Etienne to be “okay.” Tank Bigsby still took full advantage of his extra opportunity in Sunday’s win over the Colts. Etienne should still be viewed as the lead back when healthy, but it is possible that Bigsby continues to hold a role as well.
