Chris Olave (concussion) returns to practice in limited fashion Wednesday
Chris Olave (concussion) returned to New Orleans’ practice on Wednesday and was a limited participant.

Fantasy Impact

The Saints had several key players return to practice on Wednesday, including Olave, who missed last week’s game due to a concussion. It looks like he’s trending the right way for Week 8 after logging a limited practice session, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect a ton out of him with Spencer Rattler once again set to start at quarterback for the Saints.

DK Metcalf (knee) won’t practice Wednesday, unlikely to practice Thursday
DK Metcalf (knee) won’t take part in practice on Wednesday and is unlikely to practice on Thursday as well.

Fantasy Impact

The star wideout suffered a knee injury in last week’s game and is set to be sidelined at practice on Wednesday and Thursday because of it. They’re planning on assessing his health on Friday, but he looks like a long-shot to play in Week 8. Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be primed for a large workload if Metcalf if unavailable to play on Sunday.

Chris Godwin (ankle) officially placed on IR
Chris Godwin (ankle) has officially been placed on injured reserve and is expected to be out for the remainder of the season.

Fantasy Impact

Godwin suffered an ankle injury in Week 7, and the team has officially placed him on injured reserve. That means that he will be out for the next four weeks at the very least, but the expectation is that he will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. This is a tough blow for fantasy managers, as he was having an electric season before going down. Jalen McMillan and Cade Otton will both see more opportunities in his absence.
