Fantasy Football Injury Report & Week 7 Outlook (2024)
Travis Etienne (RB – JAX)
Travis Etienne left Sunday morning’s game in London with a hamstring injury and it sounds as though we should prepare for him to be out a few games.
Sunday morning’s game was a bit of a blowout, so take these splits with a grain of salt. In Etienne’s absence, D’Ernest Johnson carried the ball six times for 28 yards and caught both of his targets for 16 yards. Tank Bigsby had seven carries for 24 yards.
Given the Jaguars’ propensity to trail in games, I’d prefer the back on the field in passing situations. Right now that’s Johnson. However, if there’s a team that could make the Jaguars look competitive, it’s the New England Patriots, and that’s who the Jaguars play next Sunday. I’d consider Bigsby and Johnson as Flex options in deep leagues against New England.
Tyjae Spears (RB – TEN)
Tyjae Spears is reportedly week-to-week with a hamstring injury. Tony Pollard is likely already a must-start in your league, but that continues to be the case. Julius Chestnut is a super deep league waiver wire add if you’re looking to handcuff Pollard.
Jerome Ford (RB – CLE)
I’ll admit it, I fell into the trap. I thought drafting Jerome Ford, where I did, assuming he’d be the No. 1 RB without Nick Chubb was highway robbery.
Well, it’s officially time to cut bait. Ford may miss some time with a hamstring injury, but more importantly, Chubb is expected to return next Sunday.
Dontayvion Wicks (WR – GB)
Dontayvion Wicks left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury and is reportedly considered week-to-week. Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson returned and combined for three touchdowns, making it much easier for me to drop Wicks in most formats. If you have the space, feel free to keep stashing Wicks, but the receiver room in Green Bay is crowded.
Chris Olave (WR – NO)
Chris Olave is in the concussion protocol and reportedly unlikely to play next weekend. Rashid Shaheed also missed practice on Monday. If both receivers were to miss time, Bub Means figures to be the No. 1 WR in New Orleans. Means caught five of his eight targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Spencer Rattler‘s NFL debut on Sunday.
Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – ARI)
Marvin Harrison Jr. was ruled out of Sunday’s game with a concussion. Not much has been reported on whether or not he’s expected to miss time (and how much), so we should prepare as though he won’t be available next Sunday.
Trey McBride has been and continues to be a must-start tight end. Greg Dortch and Michael Wilson are fantasy start sit Flex considerations in most formats if Harrison misses time. Zay Jones is a deep league flier, as he is expected to be active on Sunday.
Dallas Goedert (TE – PHI)
Dallas Goedert also left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. We don’t know much about the extent of this injury, including whether or not he’s expected to miss time. We’re not dropping Goedert, so get ready to clear some space for a tight end streaming option if he misses a game or two. Noah Fant anyone?
