Fantasy Football Burning Questions: Week 6 (2024)
What are the expectations for Drake Maye?
Drake Maye is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who finished with 8,000+ passing yards and 1,200+ rushing yards across three college seasons. If you’re wondering if that’s Jayden Daniels-like numbers, Daniels had 1,134 rushing yards last season.
Maye can scramble out of the pocket to run for possible yards or, hopefully, find an open receiver. The problem is that the Patriots receiving core doesn’t have a definitive top player Maye can rely on besides tight end Hunter Henry. I wouldn’t count on Maye being any better than a low-end QB2 for the remainder of the season.
Will Caleb Williams stay consistent for the rest of the season?
I think we see it for a couple more games, and then it might be a good time to sell high. Caleb Williams has the Commanders and Cardinals coming up, but then it’s the Packers and Vikings twice, Lions, 49ers and Seahawks. That’s a tough schedule for a rookie quarterback.
After that game against the Cardinals, if you have a viable backup, you can get a great return.
Should I buy low on Chase Brown?
Zack Moss is dealing with an injury, so we saw Chase Brown get an increase in touches in the last couple of weeks. Over his last two games, he has 32 touches, 146 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns.
Moss is still in the lineup and he’s still contributing. This is still almost a 50/50 split. Brown is a Flex starter at best, so I wouldn’t grab him unless it’s as a waiver wire stash.
Should I stash Jameis Winston?
Take the chance if you have the roster spot and don’t love your quarterback situation. We forget Jameis Winston threw for 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns in 2019. The biggest problem is he throws a lot of interceptions, but you’ll take that if he can throw 300+ passing yards and a couple of touchdowns.
It’s only a matter of time before Deshaun Watson gets benched. Winston will get his time.
