Rashee Rice (knee) ruled out for Week 5
Rashee Rice has been ruled out for Week 5’s matchup vs. the Saints due to the knee injury he sustained during Week 4. No official word has been put out regarding the severity of Rice’s injury, although he does have an MRI and other tests scheduled.

Fantasy Impact

Rice being ruled out so quickly for Week 5 is not a good sign, but we won’t know more until we get official confirmation on the potential ACL tear. In his absence, Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy will likely see an increased target share, with Worthy being a boom-or-bust option until we see how the target share is redistributed without Rice.

Alexander Mattison to receive more reps
Alexander Mattison is expected to receive more reps moving forward, per coach Antonio Pierce.

Fantasy Impact

Although Zamir White has been the clear lead back in the Vegas backfield, Mattison is far more efficient and has nine more total yards than White with 30 fewer touches. Until Mattison makes the backfield a more even split, he won’t be a reliable starter in most leagues. However, if his efficiency continues and he usurps White in the backfield, he could become a decent RB3/flex option, especially with bye weeks approaching.

Jacoby Brissett to remain starting QB for Patriots
Patriots coach Jerod Mayo said Jacoby Brissett will remain the starting quarterback for the Patriots.

Fantasy Impact

Mayo committed two turnovers on Sunday against the 49ers including a pick-six. It feels like it may only be a matter of time until Drake Maye gets in under center for New England.
