Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings

Pablo Lopez (MIN) vs. LAA
Pablo Lopez hasn't had an ideal year from the bump. Nevertheless, he's in a groove. According to FanGraphs, in his previous five starts spanning 33.1 innings, Lopez has had a 1.35 ERA, 3.16 xFIP, 3.32 SIERA, 1.02 WHIP, 3.8 BB%, 21.8 K%, 29.6 CSW%, 105 Stuff+, 107 Location+, 108 Pitching+ and five quality starts. He should stay hot in a tantalizing matchup.

The Angels are 27th in wRC+ (87) with a 23.8 K% versus righties and 26th in wRC+ (85) with a 22.3 K% on the road this year. They were also tied for 27th in wRC+ (73) with a 23.4 K% in the last 14 days. So, the Twins are -250, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.

Spencer Arrighetti (HOU) vs. OAK
Spencer Arrighetti was not sharp in his last start. Still, in his past five starts totaling 27.0 innings, he's had a 3.00 ERA, 3.61 xFIP, 3.48 SIERA, 1.11 WHIP, 9.9 BB%, 31.5 K%, 31.8 CSW% and three quality starts. Arrighetti's matchup is mixed tonight.

The Athletics are 15th in wRC+ (101) with a 25.1 K% versus righties and 12th in wRC+ (101) with a 25.7 K% on the road this year. However, Oakland was tied for third in wRC+ (120) with a 25.1 K% in the previous 14 days. Regardless, the Astros are -190, and the game's total is 8.0 runs.

Ben Lively (CLE) at CWS

Ben Lively is a matchup-driven suggestion. The White Sox are 30th in wRC+ (76) with a 23.6 K% versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (75) with a 22.6 K% at home. Chicago was also tied for last in wRC+ (66) with a 20.5 K% in the previous 14 days.

Unfortunately, Lively hasn't been in good form, sporting a 6.20 ERA, 4.76 xFIP, 5.00 SIERA, 1.62 WHIP, 7.8 BB%, 13.8 K% and 27.2 CSW% in his previous five starts. Still, Lively has had a more palatable 4.07 ERA and 4.14 xERA in 25 starts this year. Thus, he's a defensible GPP SP2 at DraftKings.

Suggested Lineup Stacks

• Road (Rogers Centre)
• Game Total/Moneyline: 8.0 Runs/NYM -130

The Mets have an above-average offense by every applicable split tonight. New York is ninth in wRC+ (108) versus righties and tied for sixth in wRC+ (109) on the road this year. They were also 12th in wRC+ (103) in the previous 14 days.

Chris Bassitt isn't a bad matchup for the Mets, either. In the veteran righty's last five games, he's had a 6.00 ERA, 3.71 xFIP, 3.65 SIERA, 1.52 WHIP and allowed 1.67 HR/9. Finally, the 351 lefties Bassitt has faced this season have torched him for a .376 wOBA, making New York's lefties the most intriguing stacking pieces.

• Home (Target Field)
• Game Total/Moneyline: 8.0 Runs/MIN -250

In Griffin Canning's previous five appearances (four starts), he's had a 4.66 ERA, 4.30 xFIP, 4.62 SIERA, 1.24 WHIP, 7.9 BB%, 17.5 K% and allowed 1.24 HR/9. He's also a stellar matchup for all hitters, yielding a .321 wOBA to righties and a .351 wOBA to lefties this year.

The Twins are built to punish him. Minnesota is seventh in wRC+ (110) versus righties and first in wRC+ (121) at home this year. Sadly, they were 27th in wRC+ (73) in the previous 14 days. However, their recent struggles could decrease their popularity in tournaments, enhancing the appeal of stacking them in GPPs.

Core Studs

• Francisco Lindor is rolling. In his previous 121 plate appearances, he's hit eight homers with three stolen bases, 24 runs, 17 RBIs, a .372 OBP, .324 ISO and 181 wRC+.
• Mark Vientos has swatted 24 homers with a .339 OBP, .267 ISO and 147 wRC+ in 380 plate appearances in a breakout 2024 campaign.
• Vladimir Guerrero is finishing the season on an absurd heater. In 202 plate appearances in the second half, he's belted 14 bombs with a .465 OBP, .358 ISO and 234 wRC+. Guerrero fouled a ball off his foot last night, so gamers must confirm he's in Toronto's lineup tonight.

Value Plays/Punts

• In 428 career plate appearances against righties, Matt Wallner has hit 24 homers with a .397 OBP, .285 ISO and 167 wRC+.
• In 480 plate appearances this year, Jesse Winker has hit 14 homers and stolen 14 bases with a .364 OBP, .159 ISO and 123 wRC+ in a rebound campaign.
• In 645 plate appearances against righties since 2022, Trevor Larnach has hit 27 homers with a .321 OBP, .207 ISO and 114 wRC+.

Chris Bassitt: 25.5 Fantasy Points - Less (Sleeper) (1.67x)

Chris Bassitt: 29.5 Fantasy Points - Lower (Underdog)

Bassitt's gap between his ERA and ERA estimators in the last 30 days suggests he's been rather unlucky. Nevertheless, his 6.00 ERA in his previous five starts was ugly. Bassitt has a 4.30 ERA, 4.40 xERA, 4.19 SIERA and 1.43 WHIP for the season. He's an underwhelming hurler in a challenging matchup, so the under for his fantasy points is an appealing selection.

Pablo Lopez: 1.5 Walks - Less (Sleeper) (1.37x)

Pablo Lopez: 1.5 Walks - Lower (Underdog) (0.8x)

Lopez walked six Yankees on June 6. That was an outlier. He's had a 4.4 BB% in his other 27 starts. Lopez has walked fewer than 1.5 batters in three straight starts and eight of 10. Moreover, Lopez has walked fewer than 1.5 batters in 22 of 28 starts this season.

Matt Wallner: 1.5 Total Bases - More (Sleeper) (2.01x)

Matt Wallner: 1.5 Total Bases - Higher (Underdog) (Scorcher 1.13x)

In addition to Wallner's excellence, he's in a groove. In his previous 103 plate appearances, Wallner has hit six doubles and four homers with a .241 batting average, .448 slugging and .207 ISO. The slugging outfielder has muscled up for 15 doubles, 10 homers, a .266 batting average, .580 slugging and .315 ISO in 173 plate appearances against righties this year. Finally, Canning has allowed 16 doubles, two triples, 13 homers, a .269 batting average and .468 slugging to 338 lefties this season.
