This was the expected outcome, as he was initially listed as doubtful to play thanks to the ankle injury that he suffered last week. With Dameon Pierce (hamstring) also unavailable to play, Houston will have to rely on Cam Akers to get the majority of touches out of the backfield.

Mixon suffered an ankle injury in Week 2, and he’s likely going to miss Sunday’s game because of it. He’s officially listed as doubtful to play, so barring anything unforeseen, the team will likely rule him out in the coming days. With Dameon Pierce (hamstring) also unavailable to play against the Vikings, Cam Akers is set to start and see the bulk of the work for the Texans.
