Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) placed on injured reserve
Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) has been placed on injured reserve, knocking him out for at least the next four weeks.
Fantasy Impact
The 49ers are making the decision to put McCaffrey on injured reserve as he continues to recover from lingering calf tightness and Achilles tendinitis. He will be out for the next four weeks at the very least, and it’s very possible that the team will choose to sideline him for longer than that depending on how his recovery goes. This is devastating news for fantasy managers of the star running back, as he was the top pick in the majority of leagues prior to the start of the season. His extended absence will open the door for Jordan Mason to be an RB2 on a week-to-week basis and also raises the ceiling for Deebo Samuel, who should see more manufactured touches while the star running back is out.

A.J. Brown (hamstring) questionable for Monday night
Philadelphia Eagles star WR A.J. Brown was listed as questionable to play Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons after missing practice on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Brown, who was limited on Friday after tweaking his hamstring, supposedly went into Saturday exercising caution, ultimately not practicing. While this is not ideal, especially given that he does not play until Monday night, making a pivot play difficult for fantasy purposes, there’s still a solid chance he could play, especially after extended rest (played his Week 1 game on a Friday). His situation is worth monitoring in the event he does not play.

Jordan Love downgraded to doubtful for Week 2
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love‘s status for Sunday was dropped to doubtful for Week 2 as he recovers from his knee injury.
Fantasy Impact
Love was initially called questionable, though the early label seemed a bit optimistic given the circumstances. It could be a sign he will be back sooner than initially expected, but all Packers pass catchers should see a ranking drop in the meantime while their QB1 remains out. Backup QB Malik Willis has shown limited passing ability at the NFL level (zero career TDs through the air). Sean Clifford was elevated off the practice squad and will likely serve as the QB2 on Sunday.
