Live Fantasy Football Discord AMA with Pat Fitzmaurice

Pat Fitzmaurice: Hey @everyone. Live chat starting now in the Pat Fitzmaurice AMA channel. See you there!

ChalupaBatman: Would you trade Malik Nabers and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to get Ja’Marr Chase? 0.5 PPR

Pat Fitzmaurice: Kind of depends on what your WR depth looks like. But my initial reaction to that deal isn’t all that favorable. It’s possible Nabers is so good that his value approaches that of Chase, and JSN is a breakout candidate himself.

ChalupaBatman: Format is start 2 WR and 2 Fex so I have DJ Moore/Garrett Wilson/Zay Flowers/Christian Watson/Brian Thomas Jr. as my other options behind JSN/Nabers.

Pat Fitzmaurice: With those circumstances the Chase deal looks better for you. I can’t give it a hearty endorsement, but it makes sense.

: Should I trade Brian Thomas Jr. for Jonathon Brooks?

Pat Fitzmaurice: Do NOT trade Thomas for Brooks. They’re not going to give Brooks a lot of work when the season is a lost cause. And because it’s not a good offense, Brooks’ value is capped. I would wait for something else. (Thomas has looked like a star in the making, my man … don’t give him away.)

MuleSkinner: Full PPR. Raheem Mostert was dropped. My RBs are Jonathan Taylor, Rhamondre Stevenson, Travis Etienne Jr., Tank Bigsby, and Rico Dowdle. Should I drop Bigsby or Dowdle for Mostert? What percentage of FAAB would you recommend? Or hold?

Pat Fitzmaurice: I wouldn’t drop Dowdle. Bigsby/Mostert seems like kind of a lateral move. Not worth spending the FAAB. Mostert’s value is diminished because (1) it’s clear that Achane is the far better player, and they’re ramping up Achane’s usage, and (2) that offense is greatly diminished overall for as long as Tua is out. Mostert’s value was very TD-dependent, and they’re not going to be scoring many TDs. (Fitz’s RB Rankings)

mlpfin: I’m heavy in Waddle/Hill shares…..any advice?

Pat Fitzmaurice: No great solution my man. Either ride it out or sell at a loss. I think they’re both playable, but obviously not the scenario we were hoping for.
