You should be grinding the two-start pitchers to give you an advantage over your competition every week.
Each week, I will give you a breakdown of the two-start options for your fantasy leagues broken up into the following tiers:
- Must Start: Pitchers you have to start because of their talent/matchups.
- Should Start: Pitchers rostered in most formats and who should probably be in your lineup.
- Here We Go: Pitchers you are probably starting in most formats but who come with some level of risk.
- Feeling Lucky: Pitchers available in less than 25% of leagues that are risky but viable in deeper formats.
- Desperate Measures: Pitchers you shouldn’t use unless you have no choice.
These projected two-start pitchers are subject to change and will throughout the season.

Fantasy Baseball Two-Start Pitchers: Week 24
Must Start
- Jeffrey Springs (SP – TB) at PHI, at CLE
- Tanner Bibee (SP – CLE) at CWS, vs. TB
- George Kirby (SP – SEA) vs. SD, vs. TEX
- Nathan Eovaldi (SP – TEX) at ARI, at SEA
- Reynaldo Lopez (RP, SP – ATL) at WAS, vs. LAD
- Cristopher Sanchez (SP – PHI) vs. TB, vs. NYM
- Paul Skenes (SP – PIT) vs. MIA, vs. KC
Should Start
Carlos Rodon (SP – NYY) vs. KC, vs. BOS
Carlos Rodon probably should be in the must-start tier, but he has been up and down all season. However, he was fantastic on the road and in the second half. These look like tough matchups, but Boston has struggled as of late, so I am rolling with him everywhere.
MacKenzie Gore (SP – WAS) vs. ATL, vs. MIA
MacKenzie Gore went through a rough patch in which he was getting hit around, but he has turned it around over his last three outings, and looks like he has fixed the issues he had. He gets a Miami team that he just pitched well against and an Atlanta offense that isn’t as scary as it used to be.
Nick Martinez (SP, RP – CIN) at ATL, at MIN
Nick Martinez struggles at home, but he has been fantastic on the road this season, throwing 49.1 innings with a 2.74 ERA. Both the matchups are on the road away from the Great American Ball Park, which means you should stream Martinez in any league he is available.
Here We Go
Kutter Crawford (SP, RP – BOS) vs. BAL, vs. NYY
Kutter Crawford has been up and down this season, but he seems to have gotten on track recently against some good offenses. The only issue is that these are horrendous matchups against two of the best offenses in baseball. There is some risk here, especially since Boston has struggled recently, so wins may be harder to get.
Tanner Houck (SP – BOS) vs. BAL, at NYY
Tanner Houck has also been up and down and appears to be struggling after throwing so many innings this season. He is hard to predict start-to-start right now. Just like teammate Crawford, he has two very tough matchups.
Cade Povich (SP – BAL) at BOS, at DET
Cade Povich is back in the Orioles’ rotation and looked great in his last start. I don’t want to take too much from it because it was against the White Sox. However, these are decent matchups versus a struggling Red Sox offense and a Tigers team that isn’t very scary.
Rhett Lowder (SP – CIN) at STL, at MIN
Rhett Lowder has pitched well in his first two starts, but struggled with control, walking eight batters in his first two starts. He has shown pretty good control in the minors and the stuff looks good. I have faith he will be fine, but there is a risk if he can’t reel in the control.
Feeling Lucky
Ben Lively (RP, SP – CLE) at CWS, vs TB
Ben Lively has struggled in the second half this season, but these matchups may be too good to pass up. The Rays have not been very good in the second half and the White Sox will likely end up as the worst team in Major League Baseball history.
Taj Bradley (SP – TB) at PHI, at CLE
Taj Bradley has struggled with command at the end of the season. We saw by his last start that there is a lot of upside in strikeouts, but he is a risky bet that can hurt your ratios if he doesn’t have a good command that day.
Robbie Ray (SP – SF) vs. MIL, vs. SD
If you need strikeouts, Robbie Ray can get them for you. If you need ratio help or wins, that is a tougher task. He has been hit or miss since returning from Tommy John surgery because pitchers returning from that often struggle with command and control. There is a ton of upside, but also a lot of risk.
JP Sears (SP – OAK) at HOU, at CWS
JP Sears is volatile as a pitcher, but he has good stuff. Once again, this is about attacking the White Sox, who are truly terrible.
Desperate Measures
- Keider Montero (SP – DET) vs. COL, vs. BAL
- Nick Nastrini (SP – CWS) vs. CLE, vs. OAK
- Charlie Morton (SP – ATL) vs. CIN, vs. LAD
- Valente Bellozo (RP, SP – MIA) at PIT, at WAS
- Adam Oller (RP, SP – MIA) at PIT, at WAS
- Paul Blackburn (SP – NYM) at TOR, at PHI
- Kyle Hendricks (RP, SP – CHC) at LAD, at COL
- Antonio Senzatela (SP – COL) at DET, at CHC
- Chris Bassitt (SP – TOR) vs. NYM, vs. STL
- Aaron Civale (SP – MIL) at SF, at ARI
