News & Notes

Ryan Helsley and Emmanuel Clase are tied for the lead in the MLB with 42 saves. They remain the only two closers remotely close to 40+ saves with Kyle Finnegan being next up at 34 saves.

Clay Holmes was removed from the closer role for the Yankees. Manager Aaron Boone said he will “get creative” with the closer’s role. It was Luke Weaver who recorded the first save for the Yankees on Friday.

It was reported earlier in the week that Andres Munoz was dealing with elbow soreness. He came into the game the next day in a non-save situation and allowed a two-run home run.

Seranthony Dominguez has recorded a save in five straight appearances. He has only made one appearance in September so far though.

Justin Martinez has allowed at least one run in three of his last four appearances. He remains the Diamondbacks closer as of now, but it is a situation to monitor.
